Big Differences Between Socialist Rallies and Conservative Protests

Bookmark and Share    This past weekend the left held what was considered a reactionary rally in Washington D.C. that was viewed by many as a response to the more than year long trend of TEA Party rallies which were held throughout the nation and seem to be culminating in a Election Day that will ignite the establishment of a conservative rebirth of sorts. The entity behind the rally was actually an umbrella group of left wing organizations and radical socialist affiliations combined with the leadership of many big unions, most notably, the SEIU and NEA.

National Mall After A TEA Party Rally

The speakers were a grab bag of obscure self described revolutionaries and Democrat loyalists of the most liberal persuasion. They included people such as New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez, NAACP President Ben Jealous, the Rev. Al Sharpton, MSNBC commentator Ed Schultz, Rev. Jesse Jackson, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, rapper Black Ice, NEA President Randy Weingarten, Urban League President Marc Morial, United Auto Workers chief Bob King and president of the Service Employees International Union, Mary Kay Henry.

National Mall After the Liberal One Nation Working Together Rally

In a strange hypocritical twist though, Democrats did not accuse the thousands of people who joined their rally by taking busses paid for by unions and liberal entities behind the Democrat Party, of being “astroturfers”. For some reason, the union paid and organized energy of the left is real, but the independent efforts of conservative thinking people are described by Democrats as fake .

For months the left has tried to define the TEA movement as a Republican attempt to exaggerate disenchantment with Democrat policies. But the vast majority of the hundreds of thousands that attended last year‘s, 9/12 rally in D.C. were not paid for by the money of the big union CEO’s, or national liberal propaganda machines. Those who attended the 9/12 rally from places like San Diego, California and Helena, Montana or Clearwater Florida and Roanoake, Virginia, packed their own cars or paid for their own bus tickets with the money they earned.

But the hypocrisy of the left aside, there were several important differences between the character and ideological thinking of the TEA movement and liberal activists.

While the professional politically organized One Nation Working Together rally heard speaker after speaker call upon the federal government to answer all our problems, the citizen organized rallies of the TEA movement heard speaker after speaker discuss the need for accountability, personal responsibility, and for the federal government to stop causing all our problems.

The different approaches help highlight my reason for equating today’s liberal dominated Democrat Party with socialism, a political system that would have production and distribution controlled by the government in the name of the people but without actually being done by the people. And few events helped prove my point more than the one Nation Working Together, big union gathering we saw this past weekend.

In many ways, the event and its participants celebrated and promoted one thing—–socialism. And not just indirectly. As evidence in the video below, it was proudly and blatantly promoted in blunt, straightforward language. But aside from the extreme ideological differences in the crowds of the One Nation rally and the TEA Party protests, were the size of the crowds and the character of those in attendance.

Despite the union paid busses and organized drive of The One Nation Working Together get out the vote rally, all of the TEA protests in D.C. since 9/12 of last year, produced incredibly larger numbers than did the One Nation event. This exemplifies the enthusiasm gap that exists between the left and right as we approach Election Day. But another telling detail was the condition that the left wing One Nation rally and the conservative TEA protests left the respective locations of their events when they were done.

In the case of the much larger TEA events, it has actually been said that when the crowds at each one of their events left, the locations they gathered at were left cleaner than they were before the TEA activists arrived. Not so for the liberal rally though. After their small group of dedicated socialists left the Mall, it was strewn with litter ranging from hate filled pamphlets calling for socialist revolution, to hand written signs blaming the President of two years ago for the Obama economy of today.  (See below)

The difference here measures the mindset of the two different groups. The conservative based TEA activists who want less government control, took it upon themselves to be clean and clean up after themselves. The union based liberal establishment which is demanding that government do more and control more of our lives, disrespectfully discarded their waste on the ground of wherever they stood and left it behind to be cleaned up by ‘government‘. But what these callous, careless and thoughtless group of paid, hypocritical hacks neglected to realize was that the mess they were leaving for the government to clean up was actually being done so by their fellow workers of America and unionized public service workers.

The situation exemplifies the thinking behind each ideology. One ideology seeks to be respectful and decent as they act responsibly. The other side acts with irresponsible disregard for others and a despicably disrespectful . One side, the conservative side, cleans up, while the other side, the liberal side, leaves a mess behind. For me, the symbolism is a powerful reference to not only how divergent the Democrat and Republican ideologies are, but of which one offers a better model for success in America.

The Week’s Best & Worst In Politics-Winners & Losers

Politics 24/7 Winners and Losers

Politics 24/7 Thumbs Down

Loser ScozzafavaDede ScozzafavaPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

The NY State Assemblywoman and Republican nominee for Congress in NY’s 23rd CD, was outed as closet liberal, crashed, burned and decided to take everyone out with her.  She withdrew from the race on Saturday & endorsed the Democrat nominee over the Conservative candidate, Republican Doug Hoffman.  He lost in a narrow race and gave Nancy Pelosi an extra seat in Congress.  This woman is not just an Assemblywoman, she’s an ass& come next year, someone better get her ass out of the New York State Assembly.

Joseph Cao  PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

The freshman Republican Congressman from Louisiana was the only, “the only” Republican to support the Democrat’s big government takeover of health care and insurance.  What he saw in it which 215 other Republicans didn’t, is hard to say.  Perhaps you see something else when looking from the left.  But to look from the left you have to be on the left and that’s where this guy belongs.  If he fails to find the faults in this 2,000 page, 111 bureaucracy creating, 1.3 trillion dollar costing, freedom steeling, job costing, tax hiking, care rationing novel, than he is a Democrat or he is missing a chromosome.  Either way……….Ciao, Cao!

 Governor-reject Jon CorzinePhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket+

This man was to New Jersey, what Katrina and Governor Kathleen Blanco were to New Orleans.  This golden parachuted, wealthy Wall Street wizard purchased a senate seat only to turn around and buy the governor’s mansion so that he could use the same kind of financial expertise as Bernie Madoff.  He had nothing to run on, so he tried to turn the election into a referendum on President Obama.  But in the end, voters knew that a vote for Corzine, was like buying a ticket on the Hindenburg.  This despicably deplorable Governor should be punished, not just voted out of office.  Good riddance!!!!

Creigh DeedsPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Creigh Deeds?  More like crepe paper.  This loser was blown away like tissue paper in a wind tunnel.  His liberal ideas fell flat, his campaign never got off the ground and he cost Democrats all across Virginia dearly.  This guy wasn’t as bad a candidate as New Jersey Governor-reject, Jersey Jon,  but he practically chalked up a negative vote total.  He was an embarrassment, but most Democrats are.  Virginian’s just didn’t want to let this one do to their state, what Corzine did to New Jersey.  Still so pathetic was Deeds, that he should be forced to pay a fine to the DNC for defamation of Party.

POLITICS 24/7 Thumbs Up

Bob McDonnell Governor-elect Bob McDonnellPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

He ran a good campaign, made people believe in him, never miss-stepped and had coattails so big that he swept in a Republican Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General as well as 5 new Republicans in the Virginia House of Delegates.  If Republicans aren’t coming back, someone has to tell Bob McDonnell and the voters of Virginia that.

Governor-elect Chris Christie

Governor-elect Chris ChristiePhotobucketPhotobucket

He didn’t win so much as he didn’t lose.  42% of those who pushed the button by Christie’s name, said they really voted against Jon Corzine, not for Chris Christie.  Still, after blowing a double-digit, Bob McDonnell-like lead, he won the election and becomes the first Republican to win statewide office in New Jersey since 1997.  The people may not have thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but they are behind him and hopeful that he will be able to clean up the wreckage that Democrats and Jon Corzine have strewn across the state.

President ObamaPresident ObamaPhotobucketPhotobucket

Election Day was a setback for him.  Virginia and especially New Jersey were a referendum on the President and his Party, but after Saturday night’s landmark vote for the government takeover of health insurance and care that he wants, he ends the week up.  The President put a lot into this vote.  So much political capital was spent by him, that his reputation was on the line.  Had this not passed the House, the President would have been severely wounded and Democrats would not have wanted anything to do with him as they approach the midterm elections.  He lucked out by 2 votes.  This week he must be seen as a winner.

nancyleftSpeaker Nancy PelosiPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

She delivered!  It took a strong hold over her minions and on power to keep the legislative loose cannons in line.  Pelosi would have liked to get more votes and she failed to convince many who were not Democrats of the merits of her health care takeover , but she said she would get it passed and she did. Getting the vast majority of her conference to stand with her on a vote as contentious and questionable as this, took a masterful sense of politics——closed-door  politics,—- to pull this off——and Pelosi did.  She is a lying con artist but she is a good one.

On September 12th, 2009, Party Like It’s 1776 And Be Heard America!!

Bookmark and Share I am hearing little from the mainstream media about September 12th.

Yet this Saturday is far more than just the day after September 11th, the eight year anniversary of the terrorist attacks that left an indelible mark on American life and history. It is the day that thousands, make that at least tens AtEaof thousands of people from throughout America will march on Washington, D.C..

Although it is in many ways a protest, it is actually much more than that. It is a demonstration of the spirit that Americans had on the twelfth of September, 2001. A spirit of defiance and determination. A spirit that united our nation in a collective sense of goodwill and appreciation for all that we are and have.

It took the devastating assassinations of more than 3,000 Americans on four different airplanes and at three different locations within a matter of just a few early morning hours to make us appreciate what we have in America and what those lost souls had in America. In the wake of the events of 9/11, countless acts of heroism were revealed and continued to take place at ground zero where men and women dug through whatever rubble the intense heat allowed them to touch so that they could see if any lives could be saved. In the days to follow 9/11 Americans stood together, political parties worked as one government and even foreign governments stood with us. I will never forget when England played our national anthem and raised our flag to demonstrate their shared grief for us and their solidarity with us.

American flags were raised in every town square and store front and were hung on every front porch and balcony in our land. And when we saw those flags, we wept. We wept for those who died, those who were killed by the enemies of freedom and we wept for the loved ones they left behind who were trying to deal with the grief and shock of their losses.

We were also brought to anger when we saw those flags. We were angered by the enemies who jeopardized our freedom by using terror as a tool to restrict us through a fear for living our lives in usual fashion.

Those sentiments made us appreciate freedom. As airports were closed and commercial flight over America was brought to a halt for nearly a month, we realized how inconvenient restrictions on our freedom were.

It took the passing of the day and night of 9/11/01 to make us appreciate life, America and freedom as much as we should when dawn broke on September 12th, 2001.

Eight years later, on September 12th, 2009, despite what Democrat political operatives and liberal talking heads call them, hundreds of thousands of Americans throughout the nation will who don’t need another 9/11 to make them appreciate freedom, will be gathering to fight for it. These Americans are not just Republicans.  Most are not.  But many are Democrats and libertarians and most are independents.

And these Americans are not simply protesting President Barack Obama, they are protesting a problem that he has only become a part of. They will be protesting Republicans who voted to tax the air that we breathe in a Cap-and -Tax bill that Congress passed. They will be protesting Democrats who want the government to run healthcare and medical treatment. They will be protesting presidents who have spent more money than our nation has and the senators and congressmen who found it acceptable.

On September 12th, 2009 Americans who, disgusted by a government that is taking more freedoms away than they are protecting, will show our collective opposition to the way that things are going and the direction that our government and its politicians and bureaucrats are taking us in.

These people are Tea Party Patriots. They are common sense Americans who understand Thomas Paine’s Common Sense and its convincing arguments for independence. These are people who want to distribute their own wealth the way that they want. Not redistributed the way that bureaucrats want. They are people who have are fed up with going to the polls to vote down proposed school budgets, only to find their vote overridden by the governments that they elect into office.

Tea Party protestors are not disturbed people as the media would describe them. They are people disturbed and fed up by a government that has become less for the people and by the people and more against the people by the czars and unelected, unaccounted bureaucrats who wield more power than they any representative republic should allow.

The men and women who will assemble in Washington, D.C. on September 12th and in hundreds of locations through out America, understand Patrick Henry’s passionate plea “Give me Liberty or give me Death”. They also understand that if we allow our government to continue heading in the direction that it is going in, we will be killing liberty as we once knew it.

So for those of you who will mock these men and women, those of you who want to mischaracterize their faith in freedom as heartless or fascist-like, take yourself down a notch and ask yourself this. While you are sitting there watching us from your livingroom sofa and calling us radical extremists, what demonstration for, or stand for freedom have you taken lately? While you sit there and watch freedom get legislated away by the very same people who you elect and continue to support, ask yourself what kind of nation and world this would be were it not for Americas freedom fighters in 1776 and the years leading up to it?

There are currently more than a few hundred events throughout America scheduled for this Saturday, September 12th. These events are in addition to the national demonstration in D.C. on that same day. They are for those who could not join the national bus Caravan from California to D.C. and can not make it D.C. on their own. They are events in your own state and more are being scheduled as we speak.

Take a look at the list of those events below. If you are not already planning on being in D.C., join the Tea Party protest that is against big government and for personal and fiscal responsibility in your neighborhood and Party like its 1776!   Let your voice be heard.

If you cannot go to Washington, DC, then please attend our Tea Party on 9/12.  This is the time to make a stand.  We must stand up and demand that this administration stop exploding the national debt which will lead to enormous taxation and super inflation and financially ruin future generations of Americans.  We cannot continue to let this administration continue to adopt failed European socialist policies which will lead us on a road to perdition.  Brings signs, water, chairs.  We have a great line up of speakers and entertainment.

Rally at the Tree in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, 9/12 at 12 noon, rain or shine.

A march on Washington is scheduled for September 12th (see http://www.the912project.com/ for details).

If you can make it to DC for the march, by all means, GO. But if you can’t take a couple days off to go to DC, please join us here in Cedar Rapids instead. In the spirit of the nationwide Tea Party grass roots movement and the 9/12, there will be a rally at the Cedar Rapids Tree downtown on the river (the site of the two previous Tea Parties) to encourage grass roots resistance to the many recent encroachments on our freedom.  Those who are so inclined may take the podium (we have a PA system now) to say a few words about the issues that most bother you. Please Contact me by email if you are interested in speaking so I can get a list together , you will need to keep your speeches under 2 minutes and on topic !!!.   Some of the big issues we are concerned with are defeating Obama Care, defeating Cap and Trade (the environmental bill), plans to suppress free speech by silencing talk radio, future stimulus bills, and any measure that promises to usher in a new era of confiscatory taxes and infringement on our freedoms. We are very concerned about the march toward socialism and what we can do to stop it at the local, state and national levels.  This get together is part pep rally to encourage each other and part organizational meeting to increase our effectiveness by finding ways to work together to get our voice heard. Bring your signs.

Great news! We have joined forces with the Kern County 9/12 Project Group to promote and celebrate Saturday, September 12. There are a good number of people in the Bakersfield area that are involved with both the 9/12 project and the Tea Party. Leadership of both groups want to ensure that we are united in our patriotic efforts. We want to make the 9/12 day in Bakersfield enjoyable for all and provide options for people to participate in both or one of the events scheduled. We have moved the Tea Party Rally at Central Park to start at 12:30 PM. This will give people who attend the 9/12
event to view the special live broadcast of the Glenn Beck Show from Washington DC and have time to drive over to Central Park. This will also give others more options on what they want to do about lunch if they don’t attend the 9/12 event in the morning. Here is a revised schedule with keeping both events in mind:

    I. Sept 12th March on Washington DC Live Broadcast, Anchored by Glenn Beck 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM – Coconut Joe’s Banquet Hall 4000 Easton Drive, Suite 2

Glenn Beck told us on March 13th with the unveiling of the 9/12 Project that he would meet us back here in six months on 9/12. Joe at Coconut Joe’s has generously donated his banquet room to us. Saturday morning, 9/12 we will be gathering to watch the march on Washington, anchored by Glenn Beck at Coconut Joe’s 4158 California Ave. We will be serving brunch/lunch. The cost is $18 per person, however a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the Kern County 9/12 group for future events! Joe has been very generous, he regrets that he will not be able to join us however, he will be in Washington DC! So get those RSVP’s in and let’s have a good turn-out! Glenn will begin his broadcast at 10:00 am to it completes at Noon! So plan to come share good conversation with like minded people, good food and a mimosa or two! So come out and support the merchants who are supporting us!

Please RSVP ASAP so we can give Coconut Joe’s an idea of how many people to expect. You can RSVP through the facebook event link:

    or email your RSVP to:

II. Bakersfield 9/12 Tea Party Rally – Central Park at Mill Creek downtown Bakersfield 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM

The Bakersfield Tea Party is inviting you, your friends, and your family to a Tea Party Rally on Saturday, September 12 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The location will be at Central Park in downtown Bakersfield. Central Park is the location where the federal courthouse will be built and this has been an issue of great local debate. We are meeting to make our voices heard against fiscal irresponsibility, big government intrusion, over-taxation, and the damage to our free market system coming from all levels of government (Federal, State, County, and City). This is great chance for us to meet together and bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001. The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States or political parties. We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.

    Event Schedule
    1. Opening address from Bakersfield Tea Party. Announcement of future tea party events and talk about where we go from here. Update and commentary on
national and state issues concerning tea party patriots.

    2. Kern County 9/12 Project leadership will talk about the significance of 9/12 and the march on Washington. There are a good number of people from Kern county that are participating in the Washington D.C. march on 9/12.

    3. Conservative Ken Mettler, President of KLM Homes and member of Kern Citizens for Property Rights, will be speaking about Redevelopment: The Unknown
Government and other local and state government issues that concern tea party principles.

    4. Please bring your lawn chairs, shade covers, and picnic lunch to enjoy lunch in the park or please go grab lunch at one of the downtown restaurants to help support the local economy. Here are some examples of downtown eateries that you can enjoy before or after the rally:

Luigi’s, Goose Loonies, Bill Lee’s, Sinaloa’s, Mexicali’s, La Costa Maricos, Flame and Skewers, Happy Jack’s,Sequoia Sandwich, Sub Station

Please help the Bakersfield economy by supporting Coconut Joe’s by attending the live broadcast of the March on Washington DC from 9:30 to 12:00 or going to one of the downtown Bakersfield eateries. Thank you!

Bush and Obama Walk To The Oval Office

Bush and Obama Walk To The Oval Office

Okay, so maybe it’s not the actual transcript but I think it went something like this………..

G.W.B – Welcome to the White House Mr. President-Elect. Its a real pleasure and honor. We’re makin’ history here.

B.H.OThank you. Having gone through this yourself, I’m sure you understand the emotions that the times we’re in and that this occasion brings to me. So it goes without saying that I appreciate your gracious invitation and your earnest cooperation in the transition, Mr. President.

G.W.B. – Please call me George. You and I share a lot more in common now than ya think and we’re among a very small group. Only 42 others have gone on the path that you’re about to go on and that I’ve already taken. So call me George. Ya know, I have a habit of giving people nicknames. I usually just tag ‘em with the first snappy word that comes to mind ‘cause of some obvious characteristic they’ve got. I call this one really tall guy in the White House Press Corps Stretch.

    Looking at you …….

B.H.O.How ‘bout you call me Barry…..my good friends always have.

G.W.B. – Close enough……Sounds good to me …..So, Barry, where ya wanna begin? Got any initial nagging questions?

B.H.O.Well Mr. Presi,…ahh…George, I would like your take on what you believe will be the first, most pressing, immediate and important challenge or development to confront me after I’ve taken the oath?

G.W.B. – We all know the economy is a priority.

B.H.O.That’s an understatement George, how’d you let it get so out of hand?

G.W.B. – Ask your friends,…… Dodd took more money from the housing folk at Fannie and Freddie than anyone else and Barney Frank was getting’ it on with one of the guys running them and as the two boys chairin’ that committee overseein’ how Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were bein’ run, they decided to let ‘em off the hook……. Wouldn’t even look into their books. So that helped start the crisis.  And so did Clinton’s homeownership initiatives.  They forced Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and other loaners to hand out sub prime loans and overextend ‘emslevse to people they knew couldn’t afford to pay ‘em back.  The bill had to come due soon.  That all was just part of the problem, the part that tightened up the loaning market and started it all.

I shoulda’ seen it coming though, so I take the blame for not heading it off………

……But anyway, like I was sayin’ the economy is an obvious priority but it isn’t one that should allow you to lose focus on other stuff. You know what you wanna do so go to it. It’s your economy now. You won and your policies won the approval that gives you the right to try to put ‘em through. As for your biggest immediate challenge… Let me give you a little presidential history.

Before I came into office people were beginning to grumble, we were experiencing a mild recession as I came here to DC. So that became my priority. I focused attention on it to try an’ get support for tax cuts that we got enacted. I focused on cutting the amount of money that we taxed people so that they had the money to pump back into the economy and help prevent the recession from gettin’ rougher and lastin’ longer than it could have.

I also tried to move ahead quickly with my campaign promises…..faith based initiatives, no child left behind, ..things like that.

Then less than eight months into it, while sitting in a classroom with little kids, it all changed.

    B.H.O.I hear you George.

G.W.B. – You may hear me but you don’t understand, at least not yet Barry. But you will, in time you will.

B.H.O.- So your saying national security is my priority.

G.W.B. – What I am saying is as I sat their in that class room and Andy, my chief of staff, rushed in, leaned over and whispered in my ear that we were under attack, I felt fear and fury. The fear wasn’t for me but for the country. The fury was over the fact that this could happen. To make it worse, here I was….. sittin’ around with the most vulnerable and innocent among us, our children, our future.

With those kids faces lookin’ in my direction, that sense of anger and the fear for our people coincided with a quick feeling of failure.

I was the President that was responsible for our safety when this happened……Me!…..I was suppose to stop these things from happening to my people.  I was in a Florida classroom, tryin’ to promote an education program that would improve the education of our kids, our children,….. and while doin’ this, their nation was directly attacked. Our own people were being slaughtered in their places of work.

Barry, …..at the moment,….. I took a direct punch to the gut and then an upper cut to the chin. I was reeling from the fact that this was happening and that, as President, for whatever reasons, I did not prevent it from happening.

B.H.O.- Mr. President, no one knew…..it was not your fault and no one ever claimed it was your fault.

G.W.B.- No they didn’t….well except for a few fanatics who claim I actually orchestrated the attacks. But you’re right, no one blamed me, but I blamed myself. I am the President and it was – is, my responsibility to defend us.

Logic lets me accept that, at the time, no one could’ve known the exact threat and how bad it could be. That’s logic.  But even Presidents have feelin’s and although logic tells me one thing, my emotions still twist my guts with the fact that I was the President that unknowingly allowed this to happen.  Every death on that day weighs on my heart like a cinder block.

It was then that I vowed not to allow any suspicion to go unchallenged. No matter how minor the threat may seem, I knew then that it couldn’t be ignored. I saw the internals. Clinton saw them and knew them too. Problem is both of us did not have the wherewithal and awareness to prioritize them properly. Who actually ever thought that some lunatic, camel riding, desert rat could be as big a threat as he proved to be.

B.H.O.I understand Mr., eh, George….the sense of responsibility for all that happens must be all consuming. I’ve already begun to establish such a feeling myself,…knowing that it’ll all be up to me soon.

G.W.B. – Well you know, my father once wrote that the answer to doing it all, and carrying on is “Family, faith, friends, do your best, try your hardest, rely on your innate good sense, kindness and understanding of the American people”*. He claimed that is where a president gets his strength. After a few months in office myself, I realized old 41 was right on that one……you will too.

    B.H.O.I’ll certainly heed that advice……

G.W.B. – Good,…… but the answer to your question about what your first challenge, when you get sworn in ‘ill be………Well, it is not what you think.

The greatest challenge you’ll first face is the same great challenge that your entire presidency ‘ill face. It’s not what you know. It’s what you don’t know. It’s the surprises that our enemies thrive on and it’s the surprises that can derail all your plans. The greatest challenge that us Presidents face are the unknown events which we don’t plan for.

    B.H.O.So what do you suggest?

G.W.B. – Develop contingency plans……. Options for everything from your economic plan to your national security intentions. Have ‘em all planned and be prepared to roll ‘em out as soon as yesterday.

    That and vigilance.

And don’t just hope for the best, help to insure the best. Leave no suspicion ignored and let no potential hazard linger or allow it the chance to come to fruition. Take out threats before they take us out.

B.H.O.I hear what you’re saying George, but if I’m hearing you right you’re telling me to continue your aggressive policies.  Andthe truth is that my campaign was based on the premise that your policies are wrong and they’re  not my policies. I promised to be different and that’s what the people wanted.

G.W.B. – Lemme tell ya something,  Barry,……….. You are going to be President, the highest office, the pinnacle of politics but ironically, once reaching that political pinnacle, politics has ta stop and the best policies have ta start. Politics won’t prevent the next attack. Politics wont make the poor rich.

Heck, I ran around the country telling everyone, in 2000, that I don’t want us in the business of nation building. And I didn’t want us doin’ that kind of stuff. I didn’ want us working on, or risking lives in, those countries with names I can’t even pronounce.

    But look at me now.

I learn’d that by not involving’ ourselves an’ providing’ leadership where leadership is needed……bad things will come back to haunt ya. The wrong people ‘ill step in an’ try to provide that leadership. The type of leadership that led 19 terrorists to kill 3,000 Americans. So I may not have wanted to be doin’ what were doin’ but I learn’d quick , that we better do what we have to do or there’ll be consequences to suffer.

So what I’m telling you is this, all those promises you made,…….. well they were political and as President the leadership you must provide and the policies you gotta implement, trump politics and political promises that you made before you knew the real facts. As President you have to do what is right for the people not what you think is right to get elected. Being President is a heck of a lot different than bein’ a candidate. We all mean what we say but what we say isn’t always the means available to us.

This is it Barry,…. there’s no higher up to go than we are right now. You can’t be held back by what you thought,….. you gotta be driven by whatchya know. And as you begin to see all the classified NSR’s you’re gonna realize something. You’re gonna realize that my policies may not be aggressive enough and you’re gonna want to be even more aggressive than me.

B.H.O.Look I intend to keep up our defenses and try to eliminate threats but I…….

G.W.B. – Barry, you’re gonna see things that’ll make you say, “why haven’t we stopped them over there” or “why have we let these guys do this or that”. Some of what you will discover will make you say” why didn’t George take care of this?” Then your Secretary of State will come in and tell you why we can’t do what seems so obvious. And your Secretary of Defense will show up and remind you that Russia is ready to surround Poland with missiles if we don’t agree to accept one thing or another or that Greece is once a’gin stirring up Macedonia and that Turkey will blow their feathers if we train troops in Kazakhstan how to shoot straight….Its endless and more twisted than Johnny Edwards relationship with that campaign girl he paid off while his wife was recouping from cancer…..twisted I tell ya…twisted.

So believe me,  I use lots of restraint, so much so that its sickening at times. But we live in a delicate world and not everything is public knowledge. Believe me, you’re gonna wanna carry out military actions that ya think are obvious and easy but you’ll realize that. for other reasons,…….. we can’t. But you’ll wanna do ’em.

B.H.O.I don’t think so George, I mean after all, I’m not a trigger happy kind of guy and besides…..we…. we’d have a lot more resources available to combat terrorism and fight that war with more success if we………..

    G.W.B. – Look! Lemme tell you where we’re at!……………

Iran wants nukes. Israel wants to blow Iran into oblivion because of that…and they have the ability to do it.

That tension, and it’s possibility of happening, destabilizes our much needed, amiable, relationships between us and the Arab states with relatively moderate foreign policies. It also helps to destabilize our relationship with Russia who is in love with the Iranians and who are reverting back to their former Soviet ways and are agin’ encroaching on parts of Europe. It also helps to rattle an openly communist China who is in the midst of their own love affair with a psychotic, North Korean, nuclear wanting, government that is playing “Weekend With Bernie” by propping up it’s dead, maniacal, communist leader and pretending that he is running the show…………

….And don’t let me begin to tell ya about Pakistan and India. Both are armed to teeth, both hate each other and every other day they are ready to fire nukes at each other. Tryin’ to maintain a friendship with them is like a cat tryin to stop two dogs from eatin’ out of the same bowl………….

……..Then there are several, known, unaccounted for, weapons of mass destructions floating around out there……who knows where….because we sure as heck don’t……..

…….I also have three dozen known, terrorist networks, somewhere out there, with shoulder launching missiles and enough fertilizer to re-produce 50 Oklahoma City-like bombings.

We’ve got terrorists hijacking ship loads of tanks off of Somalia, arms dealers smuggling grenades out South America, missing caches of munitions from army bases, nukes missing from the Ukraine, and missing tanker trunks in Jersey!

Imagine that…….. a whole oil tanker…..missing in New Jersey!…..for over two years now!……… Ya’d think someone could find that!

All this, while at the same time, I have an open border that liberals don’t want disturbed by a physical barrier, as more than three thousand people, illegally, walk through, undetected, everyday, as if it were new York’s Central Park!……….

………And those wmd’s that you guys say did not exist,….well I have an undersecretary of defense, some guy named Shaw,…. who tells me that before Operation Iraqi Freedom hit the ground, Saddam shipped ‘em to Syria under the cover of humanitarian assistance after Syria got shook to high heaven by an earthquake! Imagine that….Saddam Hussien!……humanitarian assistance!…….. Yeah,… and my ma’s a Playboy bunny centerfold.

And tryin’ to get the truth out of Syria is like tryin’ to pull teeth from a shark that’s biting your arm off.

B.H.O.Mr. President….George……That’s the problem. You’re leadership is based on fear and believing that the only way to not be full of fear is to be at war with anyone who thinks differently. My leadership is based on hope. It’s based in the faith in our ability to live without fear by eliminating the hatred that fear creates.

G.W.B. – Sounds great Barry, but your not delivering a speech to a crowd of your fans. You’re talking to me. You forget….I’ve been there and done that. You’re gonna be President and I am President….So here, between us, it’s straight talk and I don’t mean Johhny Mac’s straight talk….I mean real hard facts…….

My leadership is not based on fear, it’s based on security and trying to make sure that we don’t have to live in fear. Havin’ been blindsided once, I won’t let it happen agin’ and if it does, it won’t be because I didn’t make the right people do the right things to prevent it.

B.H.O.So your advice is to increase our intelligence capabilities. continue your war in Iraq, and prepare for war in Iran and Russia?

G.W.B. – Don’t forget North Korea and the possibility of Syria……..

……….What I’m suggestin’ is that ya don’t let yourself think the world is safer than it is. As for Iraq…if ya go an’ pull out those troops before the Iraqis can do for themselves what we’re doin’ for ’em now….well than, you’re gonna be sending even more of our people back there. If you pull out before they’re ready to defend themselves you’ll be finding’ yourself at war with an Iran that is already trying to win the 10 year war with Iraq that they didn’t win before.

That’ll put you head to head to with Russia as well as China. That will cause the fragile house of cards that we live in to come crumbling’ down quicker than white on rice.

But hey…..you’re the man…..you’re the guy that got what ya wanted….the Presidency of the U. S. of A….

B.H.O.Ok than……it’s clear to me what you think. But I gotta tell you, it’s sounds like the Presidency makes one real cynical …….at least its done so to you.

G.W.B. – Barry buddy, it’s not cynical….its realistic and that is the one place where politics does have a place in the presidency…………

Never let the people know how scared they should be of the dangers out there or all the stuff they’ve got ‘ta worry ‘bout. That’s our job. That’s what we’re here for……

………If the American people really knew what was going on, they’d take matters into their own hands. And you think I’m aggressive?……..If the average American knew who was aiming what at them, and what this one or that one was planning on doing to ‘em,….they’d make Dick Cheney look like Mr. Rogers………….

A’lright, nuff of that……now lemme show you the Kennedy pool. You’ll drop your jaw when I show ya the hidden sauna and playroom.

B.H.O.I knew it! I knew there had to be some presidential society secrets to hear about.

G.W.B. – Are you kidding me…….you know those Nixon tapes?….Well wait till I show ya the Clinton tapes. He must’a accident’lly left a few behind. They’re videos and I can sure as heck tell ya’ that Monica’s blue dress wasn’t the only dress he soiled. By the way, those tapes,……… they’ll come in handy for ya’ if Hillary starts getting pushy again.

B.H.O.Now were talkin’ the shi’…eh em…..  I mean the dirt I was lookin‘ forward to…………………………………..

First there was “Girls Gone Wild” and their countless sequels. Then came “Boys Gone Wild” and even “Guys Gone Wild” and their continuous stream of subsequent follow ups. Volume after volume of guys and girls baring it all for hordes of horny, voyeurs hoping to satisfy their lusts through store bought compact discs.

Well hold on to your pants folks. Brace yourself for the newest edition of the “Gone Wild” series.

It’s “Liberals Gone Wild” and you wont have to call a 1-800 number and charge $19.95 for it with your credit card. All you have to do is vote for Barack Obama on Election Day and it will satisfy the lust of liberals all across the land. Their lusts. Lusts for bigger government and higher taxes. Their lusts for negotiating with terrorists and deciding America’s fate based on the opinions of the United Nations.

By simply voting for Barack Obama on Election Day all of this and more can be yours but it’s not free. It comes with a hefty price. It’s also broken. Liberals Gone Wild is not something you can turn off. You can’t just pop it out of your compact disc player and play something else. Liberals Gone Wild will stay on and run amuck, unimpeded and uninterrupted for at least two years.

Once your vote for Obama buys you a copy of Liberals Gone Wild, you will be revealing more than bare breasts or swinging schlongs , you’ll be revealing the naked truth of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, the nations liberal leaders in the Senate and House of Representatives, and the revelation is not very attractive.

Their scantily clad objectives are not filled with any titillating sights or actions. The naked truth of their socialist agenda simply sets our nation on a course that is so radical and so closely aligned with socialism that our nation’s government will have more in common with Cuba than any of the intended principles of our own nation’s constitution.

In the past that constitution has insured that America’s greatest strength was always in it’s people.

Individual Americans have been the impetus to our success and history is strewn with examples of how our people’s sense of drive and responsibility won the day for us. Even when our nation faced it’s greatest challenges, any successful directions offered by our government was only made successful if and when the people were behind it. Yet, by voting for Barack Obama, we are essentially making it clear that we want the bureaucracy of a government to decide all that we should decide for ourselves.

Despite the importance of individuality and independent initiative and entrepreneurial spirit, Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have confidently and consistently pushed an agenda that attempts to legislate everything from the educational choices, quality and opportunities of our children to how much money can be made in the private sector. Their sense of fairness dictates that all must suffer the consequences of government fiats.

Since they took control of congress almost two years ago their efforts to adopt their socialist agenda have been stymied, to a point. Their small majorities were not large enough to totally steamroll the principles of freedom that Americans have come to appreciate.

But all that is about to change. By elevating the most liberal member of the government’s collective, elected leadership to the presidency, Barack Obama will make it possible for the combined socialist agenda of his liberal comrades to prevail. With Obama at the helm, Pelosi and Reid will have no obstacles.

Their class warfare will rage on and personal success will be treated as a goal that needs to be penalized in an attempt to “spread the wealth”. Beyond that, in this Obama, Pelosi and Reid, special edition of Liberals Gone Wild, the successful in America are blamed for the conditions of the less successful. They are put forth as the enemy and the source of all that ails people and government.

On top of their class warfare games, the far left menage-a-tois of Obama, Pelosi and Reid will rejuvenate failed policies of the past as false keys to a better tomorrow. Initiatives such as Jimmy Carter’s, 1977 Community Reinvestment Act and Bill Clinton‘s expansion of that in the form of the American Homeownership Initiative will not simply be reformed, they will be expanded. This will be done despite the fact that both programs helped to create the current banking crisis by forcing banks to engage in risky lending practices to those who could not afford to pay back such loans.

Together the trio will swear to move us into energy independence while they restrict the independence of participants in the market and make it impossible to drill for domestic sources of energy or limit the exploration for such natural resources.

Unchecked and in total control, the liberal Axis of Idiocy will implement the most liberal agenda we have ever seen. From expanding the current burgeoning government bureaucracy by raising taxes and making it more expensive to operate to increasing risks to our national security, liberals will be like children locked in a candy shop after the doors have closed and the staff has gone home. Even before their lies achieve any confirmed coup of liberal dominance, this trio has already begun to conspire over a trillion dollars of new spending. New spending that will be funded by the millions of Americans whom they wish to control. A control that they hope to have by legislating everything from our opinions and ways of thinking to the medical treatment available to us.

This liberal Axis will allow for the unimpeded approval of liberal justices who want to write law rather than interpret law. This goes not only for the selection of one or maybe even two supreme court justices, it involves thousands of judicial appointments that are given to a President after congressional approval. Approval that Pelosi and Reid will reinforce so long as Obama’s appointments pass the proper liberal litmus tests.

We are about to enter dangerous territory. It is the same type of territory that Republicans entered when in 2000 they added the White House to the list of government branches that they controlled.

After almost 6 years of total control, Republicans unchecked power allowed them to become complacent. The lack of true competition in government philosophies allowed them to stray away from their own intended missions. The power went to their heads and they paid a price for it. They lost in 2006. The cycle is about to repeat itself. Liberals will be in total control. The far fetched initiatives of their far left leadership will now become a staple of American government. The extremist policies of Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Ted Kennedy, Dennis Kucinich, Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin and other liberal icons are now about to become mainstream, American government policies. It will be a tough two years. And it will take at least 3 times as long to recover from, but it will done.

When America sees liberals in action, the full effect of liberals who are not held back in any way, they will quickly resort to change, yet again. Just like in 1994, when two years of a government led by liberals in the White House, the House of Representatives and the Senate caused the electorate to put the breaks on that. If Obama does actually somehow convince Americans that he can do more than run for higher offices, and elect him President, they will undoubtedly correct that course quickly too. Hopefully the damage done by them in two years can be in fact corrected quickly. The only problem there is that we can not afford a damaging blow to our national security. When it comes to our nation’s security, it only takes one mistake to cost us more than we can afford.

Hopefully it will not take something so drastic to teach us a lesson . Something like the national security crisis that Joe Biden swears we will encounter if Barack Obama is elected President. It is not a risk I am willing to take. That is one reason why John McCain has my support. It is one reason why I am not willing to hand over the entirety of our government to a group of people who, for the last two years have, provided one of the most unproductive legislative sessions in recent history. It is just one among many reasons but it is one of the most important reasons.

    4 Doctors Talk Politics!

An Israeli doctor said, “Medicine in my country is so advanced, we can take a kidney out of one person, put it in another and have him looking for work in six weeks.”

A German doctor said “That’s nothing! In Germany, we can take a lung out of one person, put it in another and have him looking for work in four weeks.”

A Russian doctor said, “In my country, medicine is so advanced, we can take half a heart from one person, put it in another and have them both looking for work in two weeks.”

The American doctor, not to be outdone, said “Hah! We are about to take an asshole out of Illinois, put him in the White House and half the country will be looking for work the next day.”

Rep. John "My Constituents Are Rednecks" Murtha

Rep. John "MY Constituents Are Rednecks" Murtha

Pennsylvania has not awarded it’s electoral votes to a Republican President in twenty years.  It is a state that I would not have invested any time or money in if I were John McCain. This isn’t because Pennsylvania isn’t worth the effort, it’s simply because, given the limited amount of resources available, Pennsylvania and it’s recent electoral history is not a place McCain can afford to throw his resources into.

That was the conventional thinking, but this election is proving to be anything but conventional.

With Obama successfully tricking people in places like Colorado, Virginia and North Carolina, the need to put Pennsylvania in play has become more pressing for McCain.

Beyond the need for it has also come a greater opportunity to win Pennsylvania. That opportunity has come from of all people, Democrats.

Barack Obama was the first person to roll out the red carpet for John McCain in Pennsylvania. He did so while running against Hillary Clinton for the nomination when he said that there were parts of the state that contained citizens who were bitterly clinging to their guns and religion.

Obama lost Pennsylvania to Hillary in a landslide. Since then he has done whatever he could to win the people of the state over. One of the reasons he chose his running mate, Joe Biden, was because of Pennsylvania. Joe Biden has roots there, in Scranton, where he grew up. It is a fact that you could not escape when Barack announced Biden as the Vice Presidential nominee. Between both of them, Scranton was brought up so much that you almost forgot that Joe Biden has been representing Delaware for more than thirty years.

Aside from putting someone who once came from Pennsylvania on the ticket Obama as well as Biden have been campaigning hard for the state. They have made countless appearances there and when not in the state, Pennsylvania has been bombarded by Obama television advertisements. Most of this activity is focused on the eastern part of the state and Philadelphia. Philadelphia has one of the highest African-American populations of any city in the nation. It is more than 43% black and almost 45 % white. When you consider that about 94% of the African American population in the country is supporting Barack Obama, Philly is very fertile territory for Obama. These are pertinent statistics that bring me to another Democrat who has helped to turn Pennsylvania into a more competitive state for John McCain. John Murtha.

Congressman Murtha is a liberal who has proven himself to be almost as big a living gaffe as Joe Biden.

Not long ago he ran around screaming that a number of U.S. Marines needed to be court marshaled because he was accusing them of murdering, bombing and torturing innocent Iraqis, including women and children. The marines in question were exonerated and the accusations were proven false but what does that matter? Murtha never apologized or corrected himself. I mean why should he? All he did was try to destroy the lives of innocent men serving their country. Who cares?

I do. So that was strike one.

More recently Murtha has explained the nature of the closeness in the race for president in his home state of Pennsylvania as being due to the fact that, as he put it, people in western Pennsylvania are racists. The statement included the very same people whom he represents, in western Pennsylvania.

    That was strike two.

The remark got some heat and days later he tried to excuse what he said. In an interview, Murtha explained that what he meant was that some people in that part of the state want change but not that much. “Many of them are rednecks”. he claimed.

    Strike three…..YER OUT!!!!!!!

Not only has this character betrayed the brave young men in our armed forces but he calls his own constituents racists and rednecks. For goodness sakes people, wake up! If an elected Republican official said that Colin Powel endorsed Obama simply because he was black, you liberals would be all over him. If a Republican had the gall to say that Philadelphia was supporting Obama because Philly is full of the “N” word” we would all be going out of our minds. There would be riots in the streets. Yet a lard ass, 17 term, liberal congressman calls white people in his own district rednecks because many of them are not voting for Barack Obama and there is not a single wimper.

What happened to the liberal edict of political correctness. You know, the philosophical tenet that requires that fat people be called horizontally challenged, short people to be called vertically challenged and the stupid to be called educationally challenged? I mean even if what Murtha said were true and the people of western Pennsylvania were racists, liberal sensitivity would require that he call those bigots racially challenged. But Nooooo, he doesn’t even apply his own party’s political correctness to his false charge. Murtha just comes right out and calls them rednecks. And that was his apology and explanation for calling them racists.

As of two weeks ago Murtha was coasting to re-election in his western Pennsylvania district. One poll had him at 57% while his closest opponent, a Washington County Commissioner, Diana Rey had 30%. I would hope that has changed since Murtha explained himself and concluded that his voters were not racists, just rednecks. If that early poll has not changed and the people of his district do re-elect him to his thirty fifth year as a congressman, than I have to tell you, those people in his district are not racists and they are not rednecks, they are buffoons! If Murtha represents their outlook, their sense of decency and logic than they should loosen their grip on the guns Obama has them clinging to, pick up their bibles and beat themselves over their heads with it. Maybe the good book could beat some sense into them.

If Murtha’s remarks and remarkable history are not enough for the people of his own district to vote him out of office, his comments have at least helped to do one thing. They have helped to put Pennsylvania in play for John McCain. Murtha has helped to point out the hypocrisy of liberals and the prejudices of Obama.

John Murtha has helped to remind people that racism is alive and well in the Democrat party and that they thrive on reverse discrimination. They need to play the victims or use the race card in an attempt to guilt people into voting for them. They apply double standards which do not cry foul when the preponderance of African-Americans vote for an African-American but they call it racism if a Caucasian dares to vote for a Caucasian.

All of these points have been highlighted by the comments of both Murtha and Obama and in doing so they have changed the playing field and put Pennsylvania in striking distance for McCain. So although I would not have had the McCain campaign spend too much in the way of time or resources in Pennsylvania, Obama’s and Murtha’s unconventional comments about western Pennsylvanians changes conventional thinking and requires McCain to go after the state and it’s citizens who have been disenfranchised and belittled by Murtha and Obama.

    The Cannibal

A cannibal was walking through the jungle and came upon a restaurant operated by a fellow cannibal.

Feeling somewhat hungry, he sat down and looked over the menu…

    Tourist: $5.00
    Broiled Missionary: $10.00
    Fried Explorer: $15.00
Baked Democrat or Grilled Republican: $100.00

The cannibal called the waiter over and asked, “Why such a price difference for the Politicians?”

The cook replied, “Have you ever tried to clean one? They’re so full of crap, it takes all morning.”

Biden On Obama’s Inevitable National Security Crisis

So Barack Obama’s running mate has confirmed that within 6 months of a Barack Obama presidency, the nation will face one of it’s greatest foreign affairs crisis in history.

Biden implored voters to mark his words. In fact he stated “if you leave here remembering only one thing, remember this” that someone in the world will challenge Obama and test him out.

A comparison was even made to John F. Kennedy and the Cuban missile crisis that brought confrontation between us and the former Soviet Union. It was a crisis that had all Americans holding their breath until Kruschev backed down and their deployment of missiles to Cuba was turned around.

Senator Biden’s remark are greatly appreciated. They help to highlight the fact that we can not afford Barack Obama. He also reminds us that Barack Obama is no Jack Kennedy.

President Kennedy never agreed to unconditional negotiations with our enemies. He never vowed to raise taxes during tough economic times and he never promised to spread the wealth through Soviet style economic policies.

So given Barack Obama’s policy positions, the Cuban missile crisis is not an accurate comparison. Obama maintains none of the defensive thinking that Kennedy did. A more accurate comparison for Obama would be to Jimmy Carter. And a better example of how our enemies should react to a new administration is better exemplified by the man who defeated Jimmy Carter when he ran for re-election, Ronald Reagan.

Due to Ronald Reagan’s no nonsense foreign policy views, Iran set free the American hostages that Jimmy Carter could not bring home. The newly installed Islamic theocracy that overthrew The Shah of Iran with Carter’s urging, had the American hostages on a plane and outside of Iranian airspace at the exact moment that Ronald Reagan was sworn in as our new President.

Ronald Reagan’s promised aggressive defense of American interests contrasted Jimmy Carter’s tolerance for the intolerable. Knowing that, Iran avoided the expected reprisal that Reagan would have brought to them. It is an example of how our enemies will react to a policy that contains a bare knuckle message which indicates, that if you screw with us, you will be screwed.

Biden’s wholehearted knowledge of the fact that our enemies will test and challenge Obama with an historic national security crisis helps to hammer home this point to the electorate. It makes one wonder just how far our enemies will go in attempt to prove their point or humiliate what they call “the great Satan”, the United States.

What moves will they make in trying to see how deep the terrorist friendly policies of Obama are? How much leeway will Obama’s “friendly” policies give Iran if they give us a sincere explanation as to why the oil rich nation needs nuclear power or how much territory will Obama’s U.N. based faith allow Russia to reclaim despite the sovereignty of their neighbors?

With Obama as President, the liberal Axis of vulnerability is completed. Nancy Pelosi’s “tea with terrorists” foreign policy and Harry Reid’s “white flags of surrender” are perfectly complimented and advocated by a President Obama. It cements any doubts that our enemies may have in America’s resolve to stand up to them and their objectives.

Obama is no Jack Kennedy or Ronald Reagan, neither is John McCain but like Kennedy with communism and Reagan with terrorists, you know where he stands and so do our enemies. They need not question or test John McCain’s resolve.

So Biden’s statement promising a crisis that will be driven by our enemies doubts about him are probably accurate. In fact, according to the language Biden used to articulate the point, he is even more sure of it than I am. Who am I to doubt it? I am not Obama’s running mate. He is. It leads me to conclude that Biden knows Obama better than I do and so, on this one, I’ll take Biden’s word for it.

    punchline politics

Barack Obama was seated next to a little girl on an airplane trip back to Washington. He turned to her and said, “Let’s talk. I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to The Obama, “What would you like to talk about?”

“Oh, I don’t know,” said the Obama. “How about What Changes I Should Make To America?” and he smiles.

“OK,” she says. “That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?”

Obama, visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it for a second and finally says, “Hmmm, I have no idea.”

To which the little girl replies, “Do you really feel qualified to change America when you don’t know shit?”

THE LAST DEBATE: Senator Government vs. Joe The Plumber’s Advocate

McCain & Obama In Hempstead, Long IslandNY For Their Last Debate

McCain and Obama In Hempstead, Long Island, NY For Their Last Debate

By far, this final debate, was the most productive of all in this season. It did not change an Obama voter into a McCain supporter or a McCain supporter into an Obama voter but it may have helped that small minority of undecided people in the electorate to inch closer to a decision and it is my opinion that many of them were swayed in McCain’s direction. Not because John McCain is a Republican but because he is not a liberal.

In this final forum two America’s were laid out. One was articulated by Senator Mcain where “Joe the plumber” lived a life of choice and opportunity that was unrestricted by government intrusion and limitation. The other was Barck Obama’s America, where Joe the plumber’s life was limited and directed by government.

.Although Barack Obama was more eloquent in his description of his version of America, John McCain was more correct in his description.

McCain was able to articulate a direction in domestic policies that was rooted in the principles of a free society. A society that allows individuals to go in the direction that is best for them. Not in the direction that is dictated by government under the control of government bureaucrats.

This philosophical difference was perhaps best portrayed in a statement that was a slip up. A slip up that was probably the most accurate name that either side has yet called the other. It came from John McCain who accidentally referred to Barack Obama as “Senator Government”.

McCain quickly corrected himself but the Freudian slip was out and the jury, in this case, cannot be asked to disregard the statement.

Senator Obama is Senator Government. He comes to us from a philosophy that believes government should do all that people should do for themselves. Barack Obama stems from the school of thought that believes government is the answer to all things. This type of thinking is more than wrong, it is dangerous. It leads to an expansion of government that grows into an endless bureaucracy that costs more money to operate than the problem it was created to solve. It is the type of thinking which requires two government agencies, and a third for oversight, to hire three people to change one light bulb.

This thinking was consistently displayed in Senator Obama’s government solutions to such things as education and health care.

On health care Barack Obama proposed a government run bureaucracy that financially penalizes some so that government can demand to all, the type and amount of health care they can get.

John McCain offered a plan that allows government to make health care more affordable and gives you the freedom to choose the care you want. Senator McCain also addressed the need to focus on awareness and early physical education that helps people to avoid severe health conditions. Conditions such as obesity.

On education, Senator Obama rejected expanding school vouchers and increasing the chance for the natural raising of standards that comes with competition. He stated that vouchers were not a worthy effort because there weren’t enough of them. Instead he proposed a litany of government run policies that would eliminate choice and limit opportunity.

Senator McCain made it clear that that which has worked should be expanded, including school choice and vouchers. He pointed out that such a program should not be eliminated because, as Obama put it, there were not enough them. But it should be implemented by creating more of them.

Through it all, “Joe the plumber” became the quintessential embodiment of both Senators vision and the victim or benefactor of their policies..

In Barack Obama’s America, Joe the plumber must pay the government more money so that he can be forced to educate his children the way the government wants, be forced to get the health care that the government limits him to and be forced to layoff people from his company and make less money because the government is taking more money.

In John McCain’s America, Joe the plumber is allowed to keep more of the money he earns which gives him the ability to hire even more people. In John McCain’s America, Joe spreads the wealth through freedom and his ability to increase his own wealth without the intrusion of government and it’s fees. In McCain’s America Joe the plumber can choose the kind of care he wants and the quality of the education that his children can receive.

So John McCain was right, Barack Obama is “Senator Government”.

Barack Obama is a Senator who wants government to intrude into every aspect of every American’s life. From their pockets to their education, Senator Government wants to govern it all and he wants to do it with a government that increases in size and spends more of your money.

Under “Senator Government”, Joe the plumber is not safer, not richer or more free. He is just a tool of government. A tool that is used to fund it’s bureaucracy and be restricted by it’s regulations. Under Senator Government, Joe the plumber is not better he is just more controlled.

The only other point of real note in this final face-off was John McCain’s reminder to “Senator Government” that if he “wanted to run against George Bush,” he “should have done so four years ago.” But beyond that clarification, this debate did make things a bit clearer and all the Joe the plumbers from Toledo to Texas and Seattle to Sarasota should surely know which America is the best America for them and everyone in between.

A member of the Senate, known for his hot temper and acid tongue, explodes one day in mid-session and begins to shout, “Half of this Senate is made up of cowards and corrupt politicians!”

All the other Senators plead to the angry member that he withdraw his statement, or be removed from the remainder of the session. After a long pause, the angry member accepted.
“Ok,” he said, “I withdraw what I said. Half of this Senate is NOT made up of cowards and corrupt politicians!”

The next debate is a final opportunity for both presidential candidates. It is their last chance to have all Americans focused on both of their candidacies at the same time. The last chance for any impromptu reactions or unscripted responses that help give any indication of the natural instincts which the next President possesses.
From hereon, after the debate, every word uttered, by either side, will be rehearsed, poll tested and formatted with precision. That is the nature of modern day politics and whether we like it or not, that’s the way it is. Even the debate will be as scripted as possible. The candidates and their responses have been programmed to the very best abilities of their campaign organizations.

The likely as well as the unlikely questions that might be asked in this debate have already been raised by each respective side behind closed doors. The candidates have practiced a response to those questions that polls have indicated to be popular with the people or segments of the electorate that each candidate is targeting.

So despite the excitement over the perceived opportunity for spontaneity during a debate, there is very little in the way of spontaneous, unscripted reactions during them. Even those answers which may seem off the cuff or spontaneous are rehearsed. In fact, modern day political debates are conducted in such a way that the greatest challenge to each candidate is finding the right opportunity and moment to answer a question with certain, rehearsed talking points that they want to give air time to. This makes the question asked less than something which must be answered and more an opportunity to fit in a charge or provocative point that polls shows hits home with the sector of the electorate that one candidate or the other needs to appeal to.

Given these points and seeing as how none of the previous debates in this election shed new light on the perspectives of either man running for President, what in this final debate could possibly be asked and make a real difference? A difference in the minds of voters? What question and or it’s answer could change the minds of people with strongly held opinions of the candidates for President?

The way this election and it’s debates have gone so far, I do not think there is any question or answer that can achieve such a goal.

    All except for one.

In this last official debate, I believe the most important and valuable thing that Bob Schieffer, the moderator, can do or say is:

“Senator Obama, Senator McCain,…I can ask you about the economy. I can ask you for specifics regarding foreign affairs, homeland security, immigration education or your reasons for choosing the your running mates but I wont. Instead I am going to ask you to ask your opponent a question.”

I would like to see the candidates have to ask each other two questions on the economy, two questions on issues dealing with foreign affairs, and two each on energy and immigration. If each candidate came into this forum expecting to just answer questions, it would be interesting to see how Obama and McCain would react and how they would use the opportunity. Would they use this rare and valuable chance to pull off a political gotcha or would they use it as an opportunity to shed new light on policy differences and their directions for our nation?

Would they use the opportunity for political exploitation or honest issue and policy clarification?

In some cases, the type of question they ask could be even more telling and important than the answers given to those questions asked.

Reality dictates that this type of mutual candidate query will not take place but Bob Schieffer can still give John McCain and Barack Obama the chance to ask one question of each other.

Being limited to only asking one question could be even more telling. It would give a true sense of what is most important in the mind of the questioner. Are they more concerned with a politically driven questions that is geared towards electoral politics? Or are they more concerned with the issues facing the people of our nation who do not divide themselves up by class, race, religion, orientation or party affiliation? You know, the average, non-political citizen who calls themselves an American.

This final debate is suppose to be dedicated to foreign affairs. That’s quite an important issue and one that deals with the most essential, constitutional responsibility of our government. Yet, given the information produced from the past few debates, I expect no new information or mind changing explanations to come out of this one too. Surprising the candidates with a chance to ask one question of one another might provide one of the most insightful moments in this entire election to date.

A little boy wanted $100 badly and prayed for two weeks but nothing happened.

Then he decided to write GOD a letter requesting the $100.

When the postal authorities received the letter addressed to GOD USA, they decided to send it to President Bush.

The President was so impressed, touched, and amused that he instructed his secretary to send the little boy a $5.00 bill.

President Bush thought this would appear to be a lot of money to a little boy.

The little boy was delighted with the $5.00 and sat down to write a thank you note to GOD, which read:

    Dear GOD,

Thank you very much for sending the money, however, I noticed that for some reason you had to send it through Washington D.C. and, as usual, those idiots deducted $95.00!

In an earlier post I presented a campaign strategy for McCain to pursue . It included a number of sub themes to hit upon in addition to a homestretch strategy that laid out a schedule of releasing a new policy initiative on some of the most important issues facing us and to present them every other day. This would help McCain to control the news cycles rather than be controlled by them. It would also allow Americans to see the kind of President that he could be rather than see how well or poorly he can campaign for President.

As we all know, the economy is the issue dominating our minds at the moment. In light of that, if McCain were to use the strategy that I have previously proposed, he should present an economic stabilization package.

If I were managing his campaign I would assemble his economic team and hammer out the details. Then I would have that package carefully reviewed. Weigh the pro and cons, rip it apart to the same extent that Barack Obama would and be prepared to tear down and disprove those criticisms.

Once that has been done, give the media six hours notice and present the following press release.

At this press conference, as alluded to in the release, John McCain should start off by explaining how we got to where we are today. Outline the lack of responsibility practiced by the government, the unethical practices of private sector loaning practices and the lack of personal responsibility that many Americans have exercised.

McCain should use this press conference to signal his intention to gear us in a new direction. A direction that forces our society to deal more with hard money than fake and speculated money. A direction that focuses on what we have more than what we don’t have and living within our means as opposed to beyond our means.

State that such a direction begins by example with our own government.

From that point on, get into the details of the stabilization package. Outline initiatives which explain budget cuts. Call for a legislative reform of the process which allows unassociated riders to be placed on bills which produce wasteful pork barrel spending and funding for things that have nothing to do with the bills that they are attached.

Outline the tax cuts which will stimulate the economy, help to increase employment and grow our economy .

Senator McCain should also announce an executive order that would put a halt to the long standing Clinton National Homeownership initiative which forced Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to enter into hundreds of thousands of sub prime, high risk loans. Loans which helped to inflate the housing bubble that recently burst because it was over inflated by extending loans to people who could not afford to pay them back.

There are several other aspects to an appropriate stabilization package that must be announced as a part of this proposal and after doing so John McCain needs to tie the package up with a ribbon that makes his initiatives more than acceptable but hopeful.

He should announce that Mitt Romney will be the person who will implement this package and oversee the treasury of our nation as John McCain’s secretary of the United States Treasury.

He May Not Still Be Running For President, But He Can Help Get One Elected

He May Not Still Be Running For President, But He Can Help Get One Elected

This would be seen by some as cocky. To present a cabinet before you have the house you will put them in may seem unusual but in this case it is more than appropriate. In this case it is a move that doesn’t leave Americans open to surprises. The man running against John McCain is full of surprises. He has no record of accomplishments for us to get a sense of what he would do and he is associated with some of the most corrupt, shady and dangerous characters that politics has to offer.

From fundraiser and friend, convicted slum lord Tony Rezko to racist, American hating Rev. Wright and domestic terrorist William Ayers, one must wonder who Obama will bring into his cabinet. What kind of people would he have steer our economy?

This is John McCain’s opportunity to be bold and upfront. Leave no doubt in in the minds of Americans about John McCain’s judgment. Announce his economic team. Put forward names like Meg Whitman of Ebay. Suggest a position for Michael Bloomberg. Tell us who your director of the Office of Management and Budget would be and declare Mitt Romney as the chief financial director of our nation.

Mitt Romney understand s how the economy works. He He has created wealth in the private sector, grown business and economies. He has increased employment in both the state that he ran and the companies he helped to build.

He took the state of Massachusetts and overcame it’s Taxachusettes moniker by lowering taxes and meeting budgets.has operated under budgets both as a head of state and CEO. He has created wealth in the private sector, grown business and economies. He has increased employment in both the state that he ran and the companies he helped to build.

Additionally, Mitt Romney has never failed at any responsibility given to him. He took a corruption strewn, beleaguered Olympics in Salt Lake City that was losing money and turned it around . He made it one of the most secure, smooth running and profitable Olympic spectaculars in history.

Mitt Romney has never led a business into bankruptcy and required a government bailout or exited from the stage with a golden parachute. He grew businesses and helped others to grow their own. All in all Mitt Romney has been a solution to problems not a part of the problems and that is what we need . It is what McCain needs and any future President needs.

Therefore McCain should be bold. He should not only use this campaign to outline his direction, he should make public, the names of the people who will help him carry out that direction when he is President.

A guy was lost in the mall at the Washington Monument.

He stopped a cop and asked, “What side is the State Department on ?”

To which the cop answered, “Ours, I hope.”
