Bookmark and Share  So apparently Herman Cain is an Uncle Tom who has been hired by the Republican Party in order to deflect charges of being a racist entity. So says Hollywood liberal elitist Janeane Garofalo, a truly talentless hack who pretends to be a politically aware citizen when in fact she is an ignorant socialist.

In her own words, Garofalo told another untalented socialist hack, Keith Olbermann, the following:

“It’s from the first time I ever saw him, especially after the first Fox debate and Frank Luntz as you know, has zero credibility — has these alleged ‘just plain folks’ polls after these Fox debates — and he asked who won the debate. And he was just about to say raise your hand if you support and before he finished, everybody’s hand went up to support Herman Cain. So it seemed as if they had been coached to support Herman Cain.

“I believe Herman Cain is in this presidential race because he deflects the racism that is inherent in the Republican Party, the conservative movement, the tea party certainly, and the last 30 years, the Republican Party has been moving more and more the right, also race-baiting more, gay-baiting more, religion-baiting more.”

She adds;

“But Herman Cain, I feel like, is being paid by somebody to be involved and to run for president so that you go, ‘Oh, they can’t be racist. It’s a black guy. It’s a black guy asking for Obama to be impeached’ or ‘It’s a black guy who is anti-Muslim,’ or ‘It’s a black guy who is a tea party guy,’”

Garofalo continued;

“I feel like, well wouldn’t that suit the purposes of whomever astroturfs these things, whether it be the Koch Brothers or ALEC or Grover Norquist or anything. It could even be Karl Rove. ‘Let’s get Herman Cain involved so it deflects the obvious racism of our Republican Party.’

Under normal circumstances, Garofalo’s comments might be viewed as just another outrageous liberal charge from an out of touch Hollywood type. But this is not a normal circumstance, this is an act of despicable defamation, not just to the G.O.P. but to Herman Cain, a respectable American leader of business and community. But this ridiculous charge by Garofalo does not stand alone. It must be viewed in the context of the rest of her lies and outrageous claims.

Garafalo has publicly called the tea Party a “bunch of tea bagging redneck racists”. She has accused the Bush/Cheney Administration of participating in “a conspiracy of the 43rd Reich.”, and demonstrated her true ignorance and intolerance of different opinions in statements such as;

“When Communist U.S.S.R. was a superpower, the world was better off. The right-wing media is trying to marginalize the peace movement.”

“When I see the American flag, I go, ‘Oh my God, you’re insulting me.”

And let us not forget;

“Let’s be very honest about what this is about. It’s not about bashing Democrats, it’s not about taxes, they have no idea what the Boston tea party was about, they don’t know their history at all. This is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up.”

Meanwhile, the backlash to these remarks has done nothing but assist the cause of Herman Cain.  On Thursday evening his staff posted the following Twitter

“Thanks, Ms. Garofolo. It’s been a great day of fundraising for @THEHermanCain http://t.co/zZnNGwm #tcot”

Although Garofalo has a right to her opinion, those of us who are subjected to listening to her rants in the  media, also have a right to react with our own opinions of Ms. Garofalo. So here goes.

Garofalo is a freakish mix of losers like Joy Behar, Rosie O’Donnell, and Michael Moore. She is a delusional leftist who would not know the truth if it was written for her in a script.

Garafalo’s claim to fame is that she is a has been dark standup comedian, failed radio host, and bit part actress in made for cable programs that consider her for parts because of her willingness to curse like a truck driver. Since you can only get so many laughs from the use of the f word or calling people bitches, she has embarked on a liberal propaganda tour that is based on political opinions stemming from the teachings of Karl Marx.

As a typical uninformed liberal who would rather rewrite history than study it, Garofalo is clearly out of touch with reality. Perhaps she is suffering from some form of mental illness but either way, she is delusional and obnoxious and if the media wants to continue giving her irresponsible words air time, the proliferation of works dedicated to the disapproval and dislike of Garofalo and the Marxist cause she advances, are inevitable.

In the mean time, while there exists no doubt that Ms. Garofalo made her accusations, but no evidence or truth to the claim that Herman Cain is a hired G.O.P. operative betraying his race, Ms. Garofalo should show a modicum of decency and apologize to the National Republican Committee, the tens of million of Americans who are registered Republicans, and Herman Cain, a man who sacrificed much to make his case to the American people, unlike Jeneane Garofalo who is afforded the chance to denigrate decent people simply because she is a typical New York-Hollywood liberal elitist.

With that said, I ask that you join the newly created “I Hate the Talentless and Socialist Janeane Garofalo” Facebook Page.

HERE COMES LIBERAL CONTROL OF GOVERNMENT

Recently, Democrats took control of Monmouth County’s Board of Chosen Freeholders. Since 1986 Democrats have long been locked out of leadership in government on the county level in Monmouth County New Jersey. They have not held a single seat on the county’s governing body.  Not since recent years when, slowly, they have managed to elect one and even two new Freeholders. The most recent election helped elect another Democrat. The importance of that third Democrat Freeholder was pivotal. On a board of 5, it meant control of county government. The Republican loss of control in Monmouth may or may not have been deserved. But what is not deserved, is the certain lack of quality that Democrat control is promising to bring.

Since winning their third Freeholders seat, Democrats have gone out of their way to demonstrate that politics, not policy will rule the day.The first thing that the liberal troika of Freeholders did was to discuss who would become their ringleader. The three of them held private conversations that led to a private vote which elected one of them to be the Freeholder Director. Never mind that there were two other members of the board that should have been consulted and a part of the decision. They were Republicans and after all, who really cares about the democratic process?

So with partisan politics at the forefront, Democrats held their own election and released an independent press release that informed the people, including the two Republican Freeholders, of who will be the new director. You would think that the new liberal regime would at least try to seem inclusive and decent but no, not these guys.

Now, days after installing their own leader, the new leadership is promising to cost county residents even more money than their policy initiatives will burden taxpayers with.

They are pushing for the creation of new positions. New, high paying positions. Positions that spread some of their own responsibilities, such as oversight, to people other themselves.

In several areas, the liberal Freeholders want to create new bureaucratic positions that they intend to fill through the time held tradition of patronage.

To make matters worse, the new regime is trying to replace existing county employees, who are Republican, with fellow Democrats simply because they are not Democrats.

That is not unheard of in the world of partisan politics, but what is a bit of real impropriety, is that they are trying to replace those who hold jobs that are classified as civil service positions. Individuals holding civil service positions can’t be removed from the job without just cause yet something as menial as the law is not getting in the way of the Democrats. Without any proof or evidence, they are trying to claim that some of these civil servants have been insubordinate and inept. Proving that is going to be hard, especially since such charges were not levied by Democrats until they took control of the process.

Liberal State Party Boss, Assemblyman Joe Cryan

Liberal State Party Boss, Assemblyman Joe Cryan

To add insult to injury, the new liberal Freeholders have left the decision of who to hire in Monmouth County up to Joe Cryan, an Assemblyman from Union County who represents the towns Elizabeth, Kenilworth, Roselle and Union, New Jersey. Even more important than his Assembly leadership, or lack of it,  is the fact that Joe Cryan is the chairman of New Jersey’s Democrat State Committee.

So not only have Monmouth County Democrats kicked off their reign with increased spending and a patronage driven direction, they have relinquished authority to a state party boss from a different county. Assemblyman Cryan’s own legislative chief of staff confirms this and admits that the Assemblyman has contacted state personnel departments and Rutgers’ Eagleton Institute of Politics about finding candidates for the Monmouth County positions of chief financial officer, directors of the human resources and human services departments, and the newest  new post of inspector general.

Isn’t this great. Not only is a state employee of a state legislator using state time to respond to political party business, his liberal party chief boss is appointing people to posts in a county that he neither lives in or is elected or hired to represent.

But at least the Democrats running Monmouth County’s Board of Freeholders will win favor with the state liberal party chieftain. I mean so long as the needs of party politics are being fulfilled, the citizens of Monmouth County will be taken care of.

Or will they?

The games being played by county Democrats prove that the people of  Monmouth are not the priority. Nor are the problems that need solving or the future troubles that need avoiding. Politics is what these characters have shown us to be their priority and as such, we have to hope that the state liberal party boss, Assemblyman Joe Cryan from Union County cares as much for the people of Monmouth County as he does for the people living in the towns of the district that he represents.

A visitor from Holland was chatting with his American friend and was jokingly explaining about the red, white and blue in the Netherlands flag. “Our flag symbolizes our taxes,” he said. “We get red when we talk about them, white when we get our tax bill, and blue after we pay them.”

“That’s the same with us,” the American said, “only we see stars, too.”

ARE MINNESOTANS GETTING A LUMP OF COAL FOR CHRISTMAS?

As many call a truce in political negativity for the Christmas holiday, some politicians and political wannabes wont be focusing on Santa or practicing any piety over the birth of Christ.

No,……. I am not talking about atheists.

Whatever they believe or do not believe is their business, not mine, and as long as they do not try to stifle my celebration of the holiday, their not celebrating it doesn’t bother me.

grinch animated Pictures, Images and Photos

That is their business, not mine.

I am referring to a group of organized political mobsters who unlike Santa are not stuffing any gifts in any stockings or under Christmas trees. No, these organized criminals are stuffing ballots and playing the role of the Grinch.

Up north, in cold and snowy Minnesota, almost seven weeks after Election Day, Minnesotans are still counting ballots.

Folks in Minnesota are not especially slow or particularly uneducated. They know how to count. Its just that every time Board of Election officials finish counting a district or town, Democrats supporting ultra, leftwing, liberal, lunatic, comedian Al Franken for the United States Senate, keep finding more ballots that election officials seem to have missed. They either misplaced them, or forgot to bring them in the counting room, or just plain didn’t count some machines.

The sudden appearance of this continuous stream of ballots out of nowhere is hindering the process. It’s understandable. I mean after all, once you think you finished tallying up the votes in one district and find out that incumbent Republican Senator Norm Coleman won it by 115 votes, you would assume that it was over in that district.

No not in Minnesota.

In Minnesota just as one district is done and they move on to the next, new ballots from the town that they just completed pop up, out of nowhere. Even more surprising is the fact that all of the votes that mysteriously appear happen to be for Al Franken and it just so happens that the number of newly found Franken votes is just slightly more than the plurality of votes that Coleman previously won by.

antal_franken_bunny_web

Comedian Turned Liberal Leader, Al Franken

Hmmm……that is really funny, you might even say miraculous. I mean it makes you kind of expect a burning bush to appear and communicate the final vote, which Al Franken will no doubt win.

But day after day, these miracle ballots appear. Most of them, if not all of them are found by Democrat officials. In one case 100 votes on one voting booth in a heavily Democrat town were discovered. All of the 100 votes were for Al Franken and even more odd was the fact that the time stamp on each of the 100 votes  reads November 2nd, 2008.

Election Day was November 4th, 2008.

Whoa,…….. now hold on here. Now its getting spooky.

I mean this is almost as miraculous as the Virgin Mary giving birth.

Maybe this guy Franken really is special. Maybe he is the “chosen one” who will walk on water, split the waters of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior and transform mankind.

Al Franken

Al Franken

Or maybe this guy Franken is simply as freakish as Frankenstein.

The circumstances surrounding the astonishing finding of votes, that are all for him, is  funny. Much more funny than any of Franken’s offbeat humor and comedic routines.

I can’t wait for Saturday Night Live to do a segment on this situation.

That could be a truly hysterical skit. I could just see SNL cast members portraying blind election board officials counting ballots as liberal Democrat operatives keep passing them the same ballot over and over again and declaring it for Al Franken each time.

SNL scriptwriters could have a field day writing that segment. It would really be funny. Unfortunately the reality of the situation is not funny. It is sad. Sad but true.

Liberal Democrat operatives are stuffing ballots. They are counting illegitimate votes for Al Franken that they would never consider to be legitimate for Norm Coleman if the circumstances were reversed.

But true to form, liberal hypocrisy aboundsantalfrankenforsenatej. Hypocrisy reigns supreme in liberal la la land. These are the people who try to combat discrimination by implementing forms of discrimination.

They are the people who want everyone to pay their fair share, but refuse to pay it themselves.

They sit in private jets writing press releases that denounce some for speeding up global warming by driving an S.U.V. without thinking twice about how much more damaging their flight is than any S.U.V..

Liberalism is rooted in hypocrisy. So it should not surprise anyone to know that Democrats accept a lower standard for themselves than they do for Republicans. Just like Florida in the election fiasco of 2000 when Democrats wanted a higher standard for approving vote counts in some districts than in others. In 2000 they wanted higher standards in counties that Bush won and lower standards in counties that Gore won.

Then they decided that they didn’t want all disputed votes reevaluated and recounted, only some votes.

Let’s face it folks. Democrats are now in control. Total control. From the White House to the U.S house and the senate.

Minnesota Republican Senator Norm Coleman

Minnesota Republican Senator Norm Coleman

If Coleman wins this thing it will really be a miracle.

The way I see it, even if Minnesota’s liberal Democrat Secretary of State certifies Norm Coleman as the winner, the Democrat led Senate may refuse to seat him. Under senate rules, that is something they can do. It happened as recently as 1974 when in New Hampshire a Republican won a close election and despite certification of that victory, by the state of New Hampshire, the U.S. Senate called for a new election.

Democrats in the House of Representatives did the same thing with a close election in Indiana. Here again the Republican won. The state certified the Republican winner but Democrats refused to seat him. They ordered a recount and the Republican won again but by an even larger margin than before. Democrats still refused to seat the Republican winner. House democrats conducted their own recount, with their own standards and declared the losing democrat, the winner.

This stuff didn’t happen in the “old days”. It happened during the most recent past decades. And liberals haven’t changed very much in that time. If anything their hypocrisy has increased over time.

So it doesn’t look good for Norm Coleman.

Even if a preponderance of legitimate votes for him overcomes a preponderance of illegitimate ballots for Franken, liberal senate leader Harry Reid and his henchmen will probably ignore it and refuse to seat Coleman.

Senate Leader Harry Reid

Senate Leader Harry Reid

It may not get that far anyway. Minnesota liberals are pretty ruthless. They will probably spend Christmas falsifying any piece of paper that isn’t wrapped around a Christmas gift and submit it to blind Board of Election officials who will count it as a vote for Al Franken.

You have to remember that these are the same liberal Democrats who ,six years ago,  did everything they could to prevent Norm Coleman from winning the first time he ran for the Minnesota senate seat.

Back then he was running against incumbent, liberal, firebrand, Paul Wellstone.

Deceased Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone

Deceased Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone

As popular as Wellstone was, the race between him and Coleman was tightening up. Then suddenly in a truly horrific and tragically sad turn of events, while campaigning, the plane carrying Wellstone, one of his sons and a campaign worker crashed and killed them along with the pilot of the plane.

As tragic as it was, Minnesota Democrats pulled out another corpse, Jimmy Carter’s vice stooge and a former landslide-losing, Democrat nominee for President in his own right, Walter Mondale. They asked him to fill the vacancy and become the Democrat nominee for U.S. Senate in Wellstone’s place. He accepted and Democrats held a nationally televised memorial service for the senator.

As sad as the the occasion was, with the body of Senator Wellstone, his son and campaign associate still warm, Minnesota liberals launched Walter Mondale’s campaign to replace Wellstone in a spectacle as raucous and celebratory as the Democrat’s national convention.

Filled with music and cheerleading speeches, the event only lacked the traditional balloon drop.

Walter Mondale

Walter Mondale

The blatant disrespect for Senator Wellstone and the astonishing exploitation of his death actually ended up hurting more than it helped. Even non-activist, left leaning, Minnesota voters were appalled by the political spectacle.

It wound up making history. Up till then, Walter Mondale never lost a statewide election in Minnesota. In fact even when Mondale embarrassed himself and Democrats in his landslide loss for President against Ronald Reagan, Minnesota was the only state in the union to still vote for Mondale.

Well after turning the somber funeral of a sitting senator into a boisterous campaign rally, even Minnesota rejected Walter Mondale.

Liberals in Minnesota are still feeling the sting of that debacle. Walter Mondale won’t even show his face anymore and others are still bitter. That is why you can bank on their not spending this Christmas celebrating. They will spend it stealing. Stealing an election that they were not able to steal six years ago.

This Christmas, Minnesota Democrats have no visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads, they have visions of ballots falling from the heavens. Ballots that are all marked in support of Al Franken.

So tonight, don’t be surprised if Santa is a little late to your house. Democrats will be forcing him to stuff ballots instead of stockings at Minnesota’s State Board of Elections headquarters.

If they are successful, all that the voters of Minnesota will find in their carefully hung stockings tomorrow morning will be a couple of lumps of coal.

punchline-politics21

Just before Christmas, there was an honest politician, a kind lawyer and Santa Claus traveling in the elevator of a very posh hotel.

Just before the doors opened they all noticed a five dollar bill on the floor.

Which one picked it up??

Santa of course, the other two don’t exist!

MORE TAXES……because they’re good for your health

antefficient-tax-man

News has it that New York, replacement Governor, David Paterson, is unveiling 127 new items and services that the Empire State will start taxing.

Although the entire list is too long for inclusion in one blog post, I would like to focus on just two items on the list.

Together the taxing of these two items and the logic behind it demonstrates the utter hypocrisy and lack of reasoning behind liberal tax and spend policies.

The two items I am referring to are gym memberships and soda. Not all soda though. Diet soda is not on Democrats hit list. Claiming that regular soda is less healthy than diet soda, Patterson and fellow Democrats believe regular soda is  ripe for a tax that penalizes those who dare to purchase it.

NEW YORK GOVERNOR DAVID "tax it for your health" PATERSON

NEW YORK GOVERNOR DAVID "tax it for your health" PATERSON

After all it is our health and well being which is the government’s primary reason for creating such a tax.

Or is it?

If health concerns were their primary reason, as opposed to economic concerns, why then would they also penalize people who attempt to maintain their health by joining a gym?

If health reasons requires the state to tax soda because it is bad for you, what is the health reason that requires the state to tax gym memberships? Are gym memberships more unhealthy than diet soda?

Let’s face it folks, Democrats are just hypocrites.

They claim that they will add a tax to one thing because it is bad for you and then in the same announcement state that they will also add a tax to something that is healthy for you.

Mind you, we are just talking about only two of the new taxes that liberals are promoting in New York. There are 125 others, all as hypocritical and as inexcusable as the next. Each one of them however, will be given a reason for taxing by Democrats. They will try to rationalize each one. But who are they kidding?

Maybe themselves.

I guess they could claim that a tax on gym memberships is necessary because of the risk of injury that could be gotten while trying to keep fit. You know, a sprained ankle on the treadmill, a wrist injury while lifting weights, who really  knows. But any excuse is a good excuse.

NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR JON "hey, that was my tax idea" CORZINE

NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR JON "hey, that was my tax idea" CORZINE

This type of hypocrisy and illogic certainly isn’t limited to New York. In fact New Jersey set this trend.  When Wall Street wizard Jon Corzine came into office a whole herd of new taxes were created.  Like New York, that list of new taxes included

Just like New York with soda, Corzine and the liberal led New Jersey legislature raised taxes on cigarettes because of their unhealthiness and at the same time, created a tax on gym memberships.

Way to go guys. While looking out for our health you also penalize us for trying to be healthy.

While doing that,  Corzine’s economic brilliance led to a tax on the planting of flowers, shrubbery and trees.

That‘s one way to help take the garden out of the Garden State.

The bottom line is this.

We need political leaders who have some brains and understand that most of their constituents have brains too. Stop insulting our intelligence by making excuses for doing what is wrong. Don’t tell us you won’t tax one type of soda and not another because one is healthier than the other and then tax everything else that is healthy for us.

If health was the governments true intention, then they should be creating incentives to join the gym, not a create a penalty for joining one.

We need intelligent leaders who are willing to look for solutions, not create problems.

While Blagojevich tries to sell a U.S. Senate seat in Illinois , others are trying to sell us excuses for making tough economic times even tougher for us .

Rather than cutting the cost of government, they raise the cost of living. And they do so with the rationalization of a fourth grader who tries to explain that they don’t have their homework because the dog ate it.

But, just like New Jersey, Democrats in New York will make excuses and some voters will buy those excuses.

But for how much longer?

Pretty soon liberals will be adding a tax to those excuses that voters buy.

Hopefully voters will wise up. Hopefully voters will realize that we can’t tax our way out of every hole in a budget or spend ourselves into prosperity. When that realization comes, hopefully we will provide liberals with an excuse for their not winning in elections.

Maybe we can tell them that, like their reasons for taxing different things, we voted against them for health reasons……our economic health.

“That depends. What are you smoking?”

WHY CAN’T FORMER U.S. ATTORNEY CHRIS CHRISTIE REACH A VERDICT ?

U.S. Attorney Chris Christie officially leaves office today

Chris Christie Was Sure Of Himself In The Past, So Why Does He Doubt Himself Now?

Digg!

Strategists behind the candidacy of former Bogota, N.J.  Mayor Steve Lonegan state that Chris Christie won’t be running for Governor.

One of Lonegan’s chief operatives claims that recent remarks by Christie, and others in his camp, are more indicative of a man who is not eager to run for the state’s top job and who is likely to forgo doing so.

Truthfully, I don’t put much weight in this claim.   However, the claim makes for a good strategy that helps to create an air of questions and doubt around Christie.

Nonetheless, the fact that it comes from a group of people who find Chris Christie to be their toughest opponent for the Republican gubernatorial nomination and their greatest obstacle to getting that nomination, makes this charge a little suspicious. It could very well be wishful thinking.

True or not,  Chris Christie’s declaring that he will will not make an announcement regarding his candidacy for another four to six weeks, is disheartening.

After the G.O.P. lost the presidential elections on November 4th, it was pretty clear that the newly elected President, a Democrat, would surely request Chris Christie, a Republican, to resign from the U.S. Attorney’s office .

Being aware of that, Christie gave notice and submitted his own resignation that took effect on December 1st.

On top of that is the fact that we saw the results of the presidential election coming for many weeks before Election Day. So what I am getting is this………….We all knew, for quite some time, that Chris Christie would be available for a new job soon. So we all anticipated that he would start submitting his resume to perspective employers relatively soon and we expected that those perspective employers would be us, the voters, and the position we would be interviewing him for was Governor of New Jersey.

We knew this and he knew this.

So what’s with Christie’s hesitation to declare his candidacy?

We hear that he wants to explore his opportunities and see where things are at.

But truth be told, such ambiguity from Christie is hogwash.

When one considers all the time he has had to make the decision to run for governor or not, one only conclude that he is playing some kind of game.

He knows by now whether he is running or not. If he doesn’t know, than I suggest he not run, because if he is that indecisive, then we would be better off with a Governor who is a bit more decisive and can effectively lead us.

I don’t know what is holding Chris Christie back. It could possibly be part of some an ingenious strategy that I am missing?

Personally, I think it is a mistake.

We need to get the ball rolling here in New Jersey. We can’t afford to waist time.

The possibility of Chris Christie entering the race is freezing things in place for Republicans.

Some potentially strong candidates are foregoing their own bid for the nomination in deference to Christie.

People like Morris County Freeholder John Murphy is one of them.

If Murphy is not running for Governor he could become a candidate for the state assembly, a successful one that could help increase our lagging numbers in that chamber. If Chris Christie doesn’t run for Governor, Murphy, who came in third in the last gubernatorial primary, could make a significant run for the nomination this time. Such a move on Murphy’s part would mean that we need to gear up the candidacy of someone else to run for that assembly seat in Murphy’s place.

There are many other pieces that are being prevented from falling into place due to Christie’s indecision.

So I for one suggest that Mr. Christie thaw out the freeze that he has created.

As a former U.S. Attorney, one of the most successful in our history, he knows that long deliberations are often the results of poorly presented cases. As such, if he needs to deliberate over this decision much longer than he already has, than I can only assume that there are too many obstacles in his way.

It makes we wonder what those obstacles could be. Are their unrevealed skeletons in his closet? Do Democrats have something on him?

Whatever the reason Chris Christie may have for prolonging his deliberations, it only creates doubts about him and that is not good.

He needs to give us voters, the jury in this case, his verdict sooner rather later.

If he wants to be our nominee for Governor, he better start creating a sense of confidence in those of us who he wants voting for him.

Right now, his procrastination is showing me that he doesn’t want the job of Governor all that much and the longer he waits to decide, the more convinced I and others become of that. And let’s face it folks……this is going to be a tough election. One that will require our nominee for Governor to want the job, bad enough, to make the sacrifices that will be necessary to get it.

While Chris Christie’s apparent indecision sets in, POLITICS 24/7 wants to know what Republicans are thinking.

So, as of today, who would you like to see be the Republican nominee for Governor of New Jersey?

The following poll lists a few easily possible or likely potential candidates. Take a moment and place your vote.

Results will be released next Monday.

 TRUE  TALE

When Daniel Arap Moi was the president  of Kenya, Moi wanted a special postage stamp issued with his picture on it.

So, he instructed his people, stressing that it should be of international quality.

The stamps were duly released and Moi was pleased.

But within a few days of release of the stamp, he began hearing complaints that the stamp was not sticking properly, and he became furious.

He called the people responsible and ordered them to investigate the matter.

They checked the matter out at several post offices, and then reported the problem to Moi.

The report said, “There is nothing wrong with the quality of the stamp. The problem is people are spitting on the wrong side.”

GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN TO MAKE JENNIFER BECK LT. GOV. OFF TO A GOOD START

Last week POLITICS 24/7 began planting the seeds of a grassroots effort in the Garden State. It is a campaign to persuade whomever becomes the Republican nominee for Governor to select State Senator Jennifer Beck as their running mate.

For this effort a new blog site was created. It is titled, Jennifer Beck for Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey. Please visit it by clicking on to its highlighted name.

There you will find all the information you need to know why we have started this movement. On the site you will find pages dealing with the campaign, Senator Beck’s voting record, her bio, the latest news in regards to her legislative efforts and this campaign, videos and also the petition which this whole campaign comes down to.

Please be sure to sign the petition urging our eventual nominee for Governor to select State Senator Beck as their running mate and our nominee for Lieutenant Governor.

Also be sure to pass the link on to other New Jersey voters. Simply cut the following url……

http://www.gopetition.com/online/23572.html

…..and paste it into an email to your friends that urges them to lend their support to the cause.

So far the this effort is working. With no money to spread the word, I am relying on word of mouth, the Internet and earned media. To date we have been contacted by The Star Ledger, The Asbury Park Press, The Two Rivers Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Politickernj.com and numerous blog and news oriented web sites. Each have, thankfully, published positive stories about the campaign and there will be more coverage to come.

Currently, our efforts are focused on establishing direct contact with voters through the Internet.

In that vein, we have expanded our effort to Facebook.com, where we started a Jennifer Beck For Lt. Gov. group.
You can find it and join it by going to the following link:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=41874237142

Since yesterday, by taking this route, 42 new, interested and excited members have joined the campaign and many have signed the petition.

We have also created another group platform on an Internet site recently created by Patrick Ruffini, a brilliant Republican, strategist and computer whiz. It is called Rebuild The Party and can be found at rebuildtheparty.com .

On Rebuild The Party is our own group for Jennifer Beck:

http://rebuildtheparty.ning.com/group/statesenatorjenniferbeckforlieutenantgovernorofnew

There too, you can get involved and be a part of this effort to shape a winning, gubernatorial ticket for Republicans in November of ’09.

If you would like to play a role in the petition campaign for Jennifer Beck, your efforts will be greatly appreciated. We could use individuals who are familiar with the Internet. I would really like someone to head up an outreach effort on MySpace.com.

With no financial budget, this grassroots campaign has to sprout up wherever possible and places like MySpace are just right for us. They’re free!

In time, our campaign will be looking to appoint county coordinators. These individuals will help to scoop up all the signatures for our on line petition that they possibly can in their counties. that type of focus will help to maximize our efforts. But that will come further down the long road ahead of us.

In the meantime I truly hope to hear from you and thank you for your interest in the campaign. If you have any questions or would like more information about this campaign for Jennifer Beck, please feel free to reach me at LiberalsRlosers@aol.com . It is an easy email address to remeber. That’s liberals, R, losers, at aol.com.

Hope to see you soon!

CROWLEY STILL CONSIDERING RUN FOR NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR

Political insiders make it clear, that at this point in time, biotech entrepreneur John Crowley is still strongly considering running for Governor of New Jersey.

So far there are already two declared candidates for New Jersey’s Republican gubernatorial nomination. Assemblyman Richard Merkt and former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan.

Both of these men deserve to be heard and are worth watching. Not only do they have substantial records on the issues but they were also brave enough to throw their hats in the same ring that is likely to contain, now former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie. With all the hoopla over Chris Christie’s possible entry into the race, many other potential candidates opted out of even trying. But not Merkt and Lonegan. That alone warrants their right to be heard.

So we already have two strong willed, determined aspirants for the nomination and that is a good thing, a very good thing.

Another potentially prominent presence in the growing field of Republican candidates could come from an incumbent mayor.

Brian Levine has twice won election as Franklin Township’s mayor. Not an easy job in a town that is heavily weighed in favor of  democrats.

Levine has the type of crossover appeal that we will need to win back the keys to Drumthwacket in November. If Levine does declare his candidacy for the nomination, the question will become, does his crossover appeal to Democrats turn off the more conservative wing of the Republican party that would nominate him?

Presuming that Chris Christie does run, Lonegan’s, Merkt’s and possibly Levine’s, efforts, will at least force Chris Christie to do some real campaigning of his own for the nomination.

Although Christie brings the name recognition and seeming ability to tap into the financial resources that a successful campaign requires, I do not want the party to simply coronate him. I want him to earn the nomination. Make clear his positions on the issues, articulate his plans for the state and prove that he has the ability to get his message across in a way that people can believe.

As official candidates for the GOP nomination, Steve Lonegan and Richard Merkt will help to make sure that Chris has to prove himself. But truthfully, both Merkt and Lonegan are slightly handicapped in their ability to force Christie to play on the same field as them. Neither of them have the name I.D. that Christie does and neither of them have the access to the amount of money that is needed to be truly competitive and that Christie can tap into. The same holds true in the case of Levine’s possible candidacy.

Money is not everything but in politics, unfortunately, it means a lot.

That brings us to back to John Crowley. He has money.

John Crowley is a self-made, independently wealthy man with a compelling and inspirational history that brings even more to the table than just the money that is needed.

After studying at the U.S. Naval Academy for three semesters, he graduated with degrees in foreign service from Georgetown University and went on to obtain his J.D from Notre Dame Law School and then worked as a litigation associate in the health care industry.

Crowley furthered his education and received an M.B.A from Harvard Business School. From there he went on to work for a San Francisco based management consulting firm.

In 1998, John Crowley was handed the greatest challenge of his life. His wife, Aileen gave birth to twins, Patrick and Megan. Both were born with a fatal neuromuscular disorder called Pompe disease.

The disorder was so rare that few if any pharmaceutical entities attempted to develop treatment or cures for Pompe.

Determined, the Crowley’s settled in Princeton, to be near doctors who were specializing in Pompe disease.

John Crowley subsequently took up employment with Bristol-Meyers Squibb but after two years he left Bristol-Meyers to embark on a new venture. A venture that sought to increase the pace of research into Pompe and the development of a cure for it. It was a race against time that was slowly taking the lives of his children.

He became the CEO of a biotech company called Novazyme. In short time Novazyme merged with the world’s largest biotech company, Genzyme Corp., and soon after that the combined efforts of the two, brought about by John Crowley, led to the creation of an enzyme replacement therapy for Pompe disease that is keeping the Crowley kids alive today.

Getting to that point was not easy and there were a great many trials and tribulations, but John Crowley, his wife, and the team he assembled never gave up.

The story is the stuff that books are written about and about which movies are made.

A Pulitzer prize winning author actually did write a book about it. It is called “The Cure: How a Father Raised $100 Million – And Bucked the Medical Establishment – In a Quest to Save His Children” (ISBN 978-0060734398).

On top of that Harrison Ford has procured the rights to turn the Crowley story into a movie that he will also co-star in.

So, to say that John Crowley is a storybook candidate, is not just an understatement. It is true.

Now, at 41, Crowley is an intelligence officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve and is currently the President and CEO of Cranbury, New Jersey based, Amicus Therapeutics. He is also considering running for the Republican party’s gubernatorial nomination.

I hope he does.

That is not an endorsement of his potential candidacy but it is a sign of my eagerness to get to know what John Crowley would do as our Governor. He obviously is a talented, determined man with spirit, ingenuity a strong sense of commitment and a can do attitude and work ethic.

As is the case with Chris Christie, I do not know where John Crowley stands on the issues, but I hope we will be able to find out in a hard fought primary battle for the nomination.

Unlike Lonegan and Merkt, Crowley has the money needed to establish the name I.D. that Christie has. That would help even the playing field and insure that Chris Christie will have to earn the nomination as opposed to having it handed to him by the party establishment.

If Crowley enters the race, the entirety of the pro-Christie, Republican, establishment has the potential for splintering up. That is made apparent by Mercer County Chairman Roy Wesley who is the G.O.P. leader of the county that Crowley lives in.

It is reported that, right now, Wesley is “leaning toward” either Christie or Crowley.

Seeing as how we all know that Christie will be running but are not yet sure if Crowley will, the “either or” answer of Wesley makes sense. Why piss off Christie now by backing someone who may not run? However that “either or” response bodes well for Crowley and can best be interpreted to mean that if Crowley runs Wesley will endorse him but if he doesn‘t run, Chris Christie can count on Wesley‘s support.

The Chairmen of Union and Salem counties have already indicated that they are leaning to Christie. Monmouth county’s Republican chairman, Joe Oxley, has not gone that far, but nearly.

According to PolitickerNJ, Oxley stated that “everybody’s anticipating, hoping and expecting that Chris may very well enter the race”. He added that he is good friends with Christie and that Christie will have lots of support throughout the county.

Regardless of the opinions established at this point in time, if Crowley does enter the race, he will certainly shake things up. Many uncommitted county leaders and organizations will probably find themselves impressed with Crowley. He may even have the capacity to change the minds of many individuals currently inclined to support, Lonegan, Merkt or Chris Christie.

Personally, I look forward to Crowley’s interest in the governor’s job turning into a yearning for the job. I want him to run and turn our primary into a truly competitive race that will capture the headlines and attention of voters for months.

Such a race will help establish much needed name recognition for our future nominee and it will help to shed some light on our Republican solutions to our state’s problems.

On top of that, I hope John Crowley believes in the principles of our party and is willing to implement those principles in his approach to solving New Jersey’s problems.

If Crowley comes out trying to run a campaign that, for the sake of political expediency, makes him sound like a democrat, than I will be saying, “Adios, Sayonara, Au revoir, John.”

The same applies to Chris Christie.

If we are to win in November, we will have to run against the liberal policies being applied in Trenton by the current regime. We cannot run against democrats by trying to be them. If that is ones intention than don’t run.

I have a feeling that not only does John Crowley disagree with liberal policy, he is also not afraid to promote a right of center approach to government.

If that is the case, then Crowley may very easily get my vote.

For me, his political outsider status is a plus. He has no entanglement with the political bureaucracy that brought us to where we are today and as result he bears no blame. Furthermore; his “can do” mentality to getting things accomplished in the real world is the type of thinking that we need in the jaded world of government bureaucracy.

Of course, no matter who wins our nomination, it will behoove them to select State Senator Jennifer Beck as their running mate and our Lieutenant Governor nominee.

Please be sure to sign the online petition for that effort!

 Our money.
