On September 12th, 2009, Party Like It’s 1776 And Be Heard America!!

Bookmark and Share I am hearing little from the mainstream media about September 12th.

Yet this Saturday is far more than just the day after September 11th, the eight year anniversary of the terrorist attacks that left an indelible mark on American life and history. It is the day that thousands, make that at least tens AtEaof thousands of people from throughout America will march on Washington, D.C..

Although it is in many ways a protest, it is actually much more than that. It is a demonstration of the spirit that Americans had on the twelfth of September, 2001. A spirit of defiance and determination. A spirit that united our nation in a collective sense of goodwill and appreciation for all that we are and have.

It took the devastating assassinations of more than 3,000 Americans on four different airplanes and at three different locations within a matter of just a few early morning hours to make us appreciate what we have in America and what those lost souls had in America. In the wake of the events of 9/11, countless acts of heroism were revealed and continued to take place at ground zero where men and women dug through whatever rubble the intense heat allowed them to touch so that they could see if any lives could be saved. In the days to follow 9/11 Americans stood together, political parties worked as one government and even foreign governments stood with us. I will never forget when England played our national anthem and raised our flag to demonstrate their shared grief for us and their solidarity with us.

American flags were raised in every town square and store front and were hung on every front porch and balcony in our land. And when we saw those flags, we wept. We wept for those who died, those who were killed by the enemies of freedom and we wept for the loved ones they left behind who were trying to deal with the grief and shock of their losses.

We were also brought to anger when we saw those flags. We were angered by the enemies who jeopardized our freedom by using terror as a tool to restrict us through a fear for living our lives in usual fashion.

Those sentiments made us appreciate freedom. As airports were closed and commercial flight over America was brought to a halt for nearly a month, we realized how inconvenient restrictions on our freedom were.

It took the passing of the day and night of 9/11/01 to make us appreciate life, America and freedom as much as we should when dawn broke on September 12th, 2001.

Eight years later, on September 12th, 2009, despite what Democrat political operatives and liberal talking heads call them, hundreds of thousands of Americans throughout the nation will who don’t need another 9/11 to make them appreciate freedom, will be gathering to fight for it. These Americans are not just Republicans.  Most are not.  But many are Democrats and libertarians and most are independents.

And these Americans are not simply protesting President Barack Obama, they are protesting a problem that he has only become a part of. They will be protesting Republicans who voted to tax the air that we breathe in a Cap-and -Tax bill that Congress passed. They will be protesting Democrats who want the government to run healthcare and medical treatment. They will be protesting presidents who have spent more money than our nation has and the senators and congressmen who found it acceptable.

On September 12th, 2009 Americans who, disgusted by a government that is taking more freedoms away than they are protecting, will show our collective opposition to the way that things are going and the direction that our government and its politicians and bureaucrats are taking us in.

These people are Tea Party Patriots. They are common sense Americans who understand Thomas Paine’s Common Sense and its convincing arguments for independence. These are people who want to distribute their own wealth the way that they want. Not redistributed the way that bureaucrats want. They are people who have are fed up with going to the polls to vote down proposed school budgets, only to find their vote overridden by the governments that they elect into office.

Tea Party protestors are not disturbed people as the media would describe them. They are people disturbed and fed up by a government that has become less for the people and by the people and more against the people by the czars and unelected, unaccounted bureaucrats who wield more power than they any representative republic should allow.

The men and women who will assemble in Washington, D.C. on September 12th and in hundreds of locations through out America, understand Patrick Henry’s passionate plea “Give me Liberty or give me Death”. They also understand that if we allow our government to continue heading in the direction that it is going in, we will be killing liberty as we once knew it.

So for those of you who will mock these men and women, those of you who want to mischaracterize their faith in freedom as heartless or fascist-like, take yourself down a notch and ask yourself this. While you are sitting there watching us from your livingroom sofa and calling us radical extremists, what demonstration for, or stand for freedom have you taken lately? While you sit there and watch freedom get legislated away by the very same people who you elect and continue to support, ask yourself what kind of nation and world this would be were it not for Americas freedom fighters in 1776 and the years leading up to it?

There are currently more than a few hundred events throughout America scheduled for this Saturday, September 12th. These events are in addition to the national demonstration in D.C. on that same day. They are for those who could not join the national bus Caravan from California to D.C. and can not make it D.C. on their own. They are events in your own state and more are being scheduled as we speak.

Take a look at the list of those events below. If you are not already planning on being in D.C., join the Tea Party protest that is against big government and for personal and fiscal responsibility in your neighborhood and Party like its 1776!   Let your voice be heard.

It’s time to take the tea party movement directly to Washington, D.C. Please join thousands of local organizers and grassroots Americans from across the country as we gather in our nation’s capital to deliver a message to the politicians: Enough!   We’ve had enough of the out of control spending, the bailouts, the growth of big government and the soaring deficits. And we reject the future tax increases to pay for all of this spending and debt down the road. We are gathering on 9-12-2009 to deliver our message in person that we’ve had enough!

Amarillo Tea Party Mission Statement
Mission: The Amarillo Tea Party organization is an independent grassroots group of citizens whose sole purpose is to unite those individuals who believe the government has over-extended its reach and has been fiscally irresponsible through over-spending, bailouts and excessive taxation. This group does not accept monetary donations, is not affiliated with any political party and encourages all Americans, everywhere, who subscribe to the following principles to join us in promoting change to current government policy:
1. We uphold and adhere to the Constitution of the United States of America; 2. We believe in limited government;
3. We believe in individual rights; 4. We believe in balanced budgets for all levels of government;
5. We believe in fiscal responsibility and honest accountability of our tax dollars in the hands of local, state and
federal government officials;  6. We believe in taxation legislation and policies that promote individual freedom and prosperity as well as business growth and productivity;  7. We believe in instituting term limits for members of Congress; and  8. We believe in border control, prohibiting illegal immigration due to the costs associated with legal representation, education and health care that are passed on to individual American citizens in the form of excess taxation. The Amarillo Tea Party supporters believe that to accomplish the principles above, we must educate, communicate and unite with likeminded citizens locally and throughout the state and country to select candidates for elected office who adopt and incorporate the above principles.

If you cannot go to Washington, DC, then please attend our Tea Party on 9/12.  This is the time to make a stand.  We must stand up and demand that this administration stop exploding the national debt which will lead to enormous taxation and super inflation and financially ruin future generations of Americans.  We cannot continue to let this administration continue to adopt failed European socialist policies which will lead us on a road to perdition.  Brings signs, water, chairs.  We have a great line up of speakers and entertainment.

Rally at the Tree in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, 9/12 at 12 noon, rain or shine.

A march on Washington is scheduled for September 12th (see http://www.the912project.com/ for details).

If you can make it to DC for the march, by all means, GO. But if you can’t take a couple days off to go to DC, please join us here in Cedar Rapids instead. In the spirit of the nationwide Tea Party grass roots movement and the 9/12, there will be a rally at the Cedar Rapids Tree downtown on the river (the site of the two previous Tea Parties) to encourage grass roots resistance to the many recent encroachments on our freedom.  Those who are so inclined may take the podium (we have a PA system now) to say a few words about the issues that most bother you. Please Contact me by email if you are interested in speaking so I can get a list together , you will need to keep your speeches under 2 minutes and on topic !!!.   Some of the big issues we are concerned with are defeating Obama Care, defeating Cap and Trade (the environmental bill), plans to suppress free speech by silencing talk radio, future stimulus bills, and any measure that promises to usher in a new era of confiscatory taxes and infringement on our freedoms. We are very concerned about the march toward socialism and what we can do to stop it at the local, state and national levels.  This get together is part pep rally to encourage each other and part organizational meeting to increase our effectiveness by finding ways to work together to get our voice heard. Bring your signs.

Great news! We have joined forces with the Kern County 9/12 Project Group to promote and celebrate Saturday, September 12. There are a good number of people in the Bakersfield area that are involved with both the 9/12 project and the Tea Party. Leadership of both groups want to ensure that we are united in our patriotic efforts. We want to make the 9/12 day in Bakersfield enjoyable for all and provide options for people to participate in both or one of the events scheduled. We have moved the Tea Party Rally at Central Park to start at 12:30 PM. This will give people who attend the 9/12
event to view the special live broadcast of the Glenn Beck Show from Washington DC and have time to drive over to Central Park. This will also give others more options on what they want to do about lunch if they don’t attend the 9/12 event in the morning. Here is a revised schedule with keeping both events in mind:

    I. Sept 12th March on Washington DC Live Broadcast, Anchored by Glenn Beck 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM – Coconut Joe’s Banquet Hall 4000 Easton Drive, Suite 2

Glenn Beck told us on March 13th with the unveiling of the 9/12 Project that he would meet us back here in six months on 9/12. Joe at Coconut Joe’s has generously donated his banquet room to us. Saturday morning, 9/12 we will be gathering to watch the march on Washington, anchored by Glenn Beck at Coconut Joe’s 4158 California Ave. We will be serving brunch/lunch. The cost is $18 per person, however a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the Kern County 9/12 group for future events! Joe has been very generous, he regrets that he will not be able to join us however, he will be in Washington DC! So get those RSVP’s in and let’s have a good turn-out! Glenn will begin his broadcast at 10:00 am to it completes at Noon! So plan to come share good conversation with like minded people, good food and a mimosa or two! So come out and support the merchants who are supporting us!

Please RSVP ASAP so we can give Coconut Joe’s an idea of how many people to expect. You can RSVP through the facebook event link:

II. Bakersfield 9/12 Tea Party Rally – Central Park at Mill Creek downtown Bakersfield 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM

The Bakersfield Tea Party is inviting you, your friends, and your family to a Tea Party Rally on Saturday, September 12 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The location will be at Central Park in downtown Bakersfield. Central Park is the location where the federal courthouse will be built and this has been an issue of great local debate. We are meeting to make our voices heard against fiscal irresponsibility, big government intrusion, over-taxation, and the damage to our free market system coming from all levels of government (Federal, State, County, and City). This is great chance for us to meet together and bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001. The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States or political parties. We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.

    Event Schedule
    1. Opening address from Bakersfield Tea Party. Announcement of future tea party events and talk about where we go from here. Update and commentary on
national and state issues concerning tea party patriots.

    2. Kern County 9/12 Project leadership will talk about the significance of 9/12 and the march on Washington. There are a good number of people from Kern county that are participating in the Washington D.C. march on 9/12.

    3. Conservative Ken Mettler, President of KLM Homes and member of Kern Citizens for Property Rights, will be speaking about Redevelopment: The Unknown
Government and other local and state government issues that concern tea party principles.

    4. Please bring your lawn chairs, shade covers, and picnic lunch to enjoy lunch in the park or please go grab lunch at one of the downtown restaurants to help support the local economy. Here are some examples of downtown eateries that you can enjoy before or after the rally:

Luigi’s, Goose Loonies, Bill Lee’s, Sinaloa’s, Mexicali’s, La Costa Maricos, Flame and Skewers, Happy Jack’s,Sequoia Sandwich, Sub Station

Please help the Bakersfield economy by supporting Coconut Joe’s by attending the live broadcast of the March on Washington DC from 9:30 to 12:00 or going to one of the downtown Bakersfield eateries. Thank you!

We have chartered the Amazing Grace tall ship from Gig Harbor, Washington. She is an 85 foot, top-sail schooner characteristic of traditional ships from the mid 1700’s. Colonial Patriot Thomas Paine (as seen on YouTube) will deliver a special message. http://www.WeThePeople-Washington.org are working with The 912 Project and other patriotic groups in Oregon to organize this event. Victoria Taft, local talk radio host, has agreed to serve as MC for the event. We have a host of speakers lined up to remind us of the principles of the American Founding and our civic responsibilities as We The People. We must raise our expectations for representation and make a more deliberate effort to develop future statesman. The tall ship Amazing Grace will make her maiden voyage on the Columbia and Willamette rivers.
