But such is not the case with three conservative columnists/hosts/commentators. Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham and Michelle are three conservative messengers who I respect and greatly appreciate. They are passionate believers in the principles that founded this nation and are at the heart of the Republican Party. They are truly believers who walk the talk. They live by the principles they speak and they advance the cause without being any more inflammatory with an issue than it may already be in its own right.
They inform and explain. They support their claims and speak the truth. Which brings me to the following piece presented by Michelle Malkin on her blog today. She points out a process of deception that is taking place on, of all issues, the most divisive and cantankerous issue of the year, government controlled health management and care reform.
The “vapor bill” materializes, but don’t spend too much reading it
Transparency my foot.
In its typically bass-ackwards way, the Democrat majority has released the 1,500-plus Baucus health care bill…a week after passing it in committee.
Here it is in PDF form.
But don’t invest too much time reading it.
Because in the Dems’ typically non-transparent way, it’ll be melded, molded, and amended behind closed doors:
It’s important to remember that the bill won’t exist in this form for long. Senate Majority Leader Reid and Sens. Max Baucus and Chris Dodd along with senior White House aides are merging the Finance and Health Committee legislation into one bill that will be considered on the floor of the Senate. The behind-closed-doors dealings have drawn criticism from Republicans, particularly because President Obama had promised a transparent process and pledged to negotiate the health care bill on C-SPAN.
Here’s some real transparency for you. Philip Klein at the American Spectator exposes the Baucus accounting trick:
Given that the CBO only puts a price tag on the first 10 years of a piece of legislation, Democrats realized that they could simply delay the enactment of the major spending provisions of the bill by four years, thus creating the illusion of a bill that costs $829 billion over 10 years. But in actuality, the bill is projected to cost just $14 billion in the first four years, and $70 billion through its fifth year…About 98 percent of the spending comes in the last six years, and 92 percent comes in final five year period. Thus, the true 10-year cost of the Baucus bill is well above $1 trillion, and according to estimates cited by Republicans, it’s actually $1.8 trillion.
Malkin points out here not an ideological opinion. She reports on an ethical breach that crosse’s ideology. The deception pointed out here are a prime example of how Washington works and it shows us that for the Democrat Majority leadership, winning is everything. Baucus, Reid and the rest of the liberal conspirators involved here are acting like used car dealers who are exempt from any lemon laws. They are selling a healthcare bill that is deficit defective and they know it. They know whats under the hood of their version of healthcare reform. They know that it’s real costs kick in well after the current period of time that is typically used to project program costs. In fact the most serious ramifications of the budgetary mess and high costs of government run health management and care wont kick in until many who are pushing for it, are either reelected or by the time they expect to retire from their lifelong seats in Congress. Knowing fell well what is under the engine of their reforms, they won’t let you look under the hood of the lemon they are selling.
Malkin’s reporting of this issue is an example of why I appreciate her so much. During the a time where the lamestream media offers more opinion than news and simply report on what is happening on the surface of the political pond, Malkin reports to us what is going underneath the scum floating on the surface of the pond. She makes us aware of what is going on below the surface and “behind closed doors”.
This is important and it is also done by people like Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingrahm and Mark Levine, in a way that does not cross lines and become more inflammatory than it is already is. For sure they get emotional ab out some of what they inform us about. Especially Mark Levin. They are all very passionate about the cause.
Not only do I appreciate Ingrahm, Levin and Malkin, I respect them. They walk the talk and live by their words. They are not hypocrites and they are not just trying to invent controversy for ratings. These three conservative messengers simply know that the facts as they are, are troubling enough and need no exaggeration or distortion to be of more interest or more inflammatory than the already are.
In the mean time, we wait for the Democrat’s magic show. With all their slights of hands, secret escape doors and use of shining deceptive lighting on the facts, the roll out of their government run health management and care reform show will be something to watch .
While we wait, I do recommend that you pay attention to the message’s Ingrahm, Levin and Malkin deliver . They will shed new light on old problems and continuing concerns. And they will do so with passion and honesty. Each one of them speak the truth about just how antithetical the liberal agenda is to the principles that founded this great nation and in doing so, they will allow you to understand why Levin, Ingrahm and Malkin are great American’s
