On Thursday, February 22, Governor Jon Corzine will be a guest of respected New Jersey journalist Steve Adubato on his weekly show, Caucus: New Jersey . They will be taking questions for the Governor from the general public and answering them live, on the air.
Questions need to be submitted before hand, by clicking here or you can do so by through the link below:
There you can ask the Governor any question that is on your mind and we at POLITICS 24/7 believe that it is an opportunity which everyone, especially Republicans, need to take advantage of.
Republicans should be creative and think along the lines of the campaign manager of their favorite Republican candidate for Governor. Set your question up in such a way that allows the Governor to walk right into the line of thinking that you can effectively hit him on.
Ask questions about the Governor’s decimation of the business environment, his lack of ethics, his tax increases and revenue shortfalls, his inability to reform government and why he is so partisan that he and his Democrat friends in the senate and assembly reject proposals for reform that Republicans propose?
One question which I have submitted is:
“In your State of the State address, you warned of tough times ahead and you promised to reduce spending. You even said that municipalities will have to do more with less from the state. Yet after that promise, you promised to pay for the expansion pre-school educations for all. How do you make up for the budget deficit by spending less when at the same time you promise to spend more?”
Another question I asked goes like this:
“Shortly after you first took office, you raised taxes by almost $2 billion and now, at the end of your first term, we are faced with a shortfall of $2.1 billion. I am sure that, as a veteran of wall street, you can admit that that is not they type of business management that would be considered acceptable, so how do you defend these circumstances under your administration?”
There are plenty of questions that need to be asked. Not just by Republicans who already know that we need to get rid of Corzine but by all New Jersey citizens who want to improve life in the Garden State.
Of course, not every question submitted will be asked, the program is only an hour. On top of that, there is the some doubt regarding who actually picks the questions that will be asked. If Steve Adubato, I am sure the forum will be fair and that some of the tougher questions will be selected for the Governor to answer.
So take a chance.
You never know which question might produce an earth shifting answer
Who would have thought that a plumber from Ohio would become famous, write a book and be asked to run for Congress simply because he asked a question. A question which wound up consuming the last few weeks of the Presidential election.
A simple question during the qestioning of a President produced an impeachment after that President was found to have lied in his answer to one of those questions.
So you never know what the results could be. If you have the right question you may just become a part of recorded history. You could be responsible for changing events as opposed to our Governor who is constantly changed by events.
Give it a shot, submit your question to Caucus: New Jersey. And just in case it is not selected on their program, share it here, in the comments section, and let us know what you are wondering about?
